🚨DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER — STARTING TONIGHT!🚨
The Rigby Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across Idaho in a statewide Labor Day impaired-driving mobilization starting tonight, August 19, through Labor Day, September 7, 2026.

Officers will be increasing patrols to focus on identifying drivers who are operating motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Impaired driving can turn a celebration into a tragedy in a matter of seconds.

This Labor Day, make the right choice:
🍺 If you drink, DON’T DRIVE.
đźš— Plan a sober ride.
📱 Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find a designated driver.
⚠️ Never get behind the wheel impaired.

See a driver you believe may be impaired? Call 911. Your quick call could help our officers safely locate the driver and get them off the roadway before they hurt themselves or someone else.

Let’s work together to keep the City of Rigby, our community, and Idaho roads safe. Drive sober. Get home safely. Every time.

4 way stop for a few days before the light goes into service!

🚦 Not fire-related, but definitely important: a new traffic pattern at 4000 E and Highway 48 begins tomorrow!

Beginning tomorrow, August 5th, the intersection will operate as a temporary four-way stop while crews prepare for the new traffic signal to become operational later this week. Stop signs will be installed after 10:00 a.m., so please continue to use caution when traveling through the area.

Motorists should expect changes in traffic patterns and possible delays. Please remember to come to a complete stop before proceeding carefully through the intersection.

Thank you for your patience as we continue working to improve safety and traffic flow in the area. We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting this project, and we’re excited to see it nearing completion.

07/28/2026

Progress is happening! 🚦

To keep the project moving while minimizing disruptions, the intersection will be closed Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday so crews can install all four traffic signal poles overnight.

This work is a major step toward having the new signal operational before the start of the school year.

Thanks for your patience as we work to improve safety for everyone who uses this intersection.
