As your Emergency Management Coordinator I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Ridley Park, I had the pleasure of working with four different Police Chiefs, migrated the Emergency Operations Plan to electronic data and a complete update, managed the borough through two hurricanes and a Pandemic. I have learned and experienced so much during my career.

The time has come for me to retire from my position the beginning of the year as your EMC. Thank you to all of those who have assisted me along the way.

Stay safe and Happy Holidays!

Borough officials and the new owners of Taylor Hospital unite for symbolic flag raising ceremony. The flag raising represents unity, trust, and a strong partnership between our community and the new leadership. We are confident this change will bring renewed energy and innovation to Ridley Park. The new ownership expressed their enthusiasm for working alongside Borough officials and are “looking ahead to bringing back medical services the community needs that have gone missing with the closure of local hospitals”.

Truly a sad time in our history with the eminent closing of both Taylor and Crozer hospitals.

Your future options for emergency healthcare are now Riddle and Fitzgerald emergency rooms along with your local Urgent Cares.

Please plan accordingly when needing emergent care.

If you’re asking yourself “did we just take a Giant step backwards” when it comes to our local emergency healthcare? The answer is yes!

Your local government is not going to have answers to your questions as to the why’s and how’s did this happen? Those questions would be best answered by your County government.

Your local Fire/EMS companies will keep providing Basic Life Support (Ambulance) services.

Please stay safe and always take care of your neighbors.
