Five years ago, January 2017, Bergen County launched a County Park Master Plan Survey. As Ridgewood's Mayor I shared the survey widely, encouraging all Ridgewood residents to participate and comment about the need for the Wild Duck Pond to be restored.

The map shows Ridgewood as one of the top survey respondents resulting in a prioritization of the restoration of the Bergen County (Ridgewood) Wild Duck Pond!

The greatest thanks goes to Ridgewood residents for taking the time to participate!

Ridgewood Public Library Strategic Planning

The Ridgewood Public Library is updating its Strategic Plan, which is required every 5 years. Part of the process is asking residents to complete a survey regarding many facets of the library, such as how they use the library and feedback on its programming and facilities.

The survey is now live and will be active until Friday, 9/16. Upon completing the survey, there is an option to give your email address or phone number to be entered into a raffle to receive a $100 gift card. Although the survey only takes a few minutes, your participation will have a positive impact for many years to come!

A public hearing for adoption by the village planning board is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Village Hall. ​

The Ridgewood Planning Board and Master Plan Committee are pleased to present the Village of Ridgewood Master Plan draft for preliminary public review and feedback. A public hearing for adoption by the Planning Board is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, 7:30pm at Village Hall.

Ridgewood's Master Plan is a robust, comprehensive, and dynamic document that reflects our community's collective vision for the future.

Although New Jersey requires only four elements in a municipal Master Plan, the Master Plan Committee, working with Heyer-Gruel, made a commitment to ensuring all elements were considered, updated as necessary, and included where relevant.
Community and stakeholder input gathered through the Visioning process provides the foundation for the Master Plan document.

The hope is everyone will have an opportunity to review this amazing document before the September 20, 2022 Planning Board Public Hearing.

Over the years Ridgewood has seen more Village neighborhoods impacted by storm flooding and drainage issues. Resident outreach resulted in a reallocation of funds for various drainage improvements.

An ordinance that appropriated $362,000 in funding for drainage improvements on Circle Avenue was renamed to broaden the scope of coverage.
