On a beautiful sunny morning, Ridgewood Parks and Recreation and the Ridgewood Police Departments partnered with EZ Ride to host the annual Fall Bike Rodeo at the Graydon Pool parking lot. Safety checks of helmets, tires and brakes were completed. 22 riders learned to successfully ride with pedals (and no training wheels) using the ‘balance approach’ method. 7 more advanced riders worked on hand signals and scanning so they can be much safer when on the road with other vehicles.

Several Civic Youth Corps members were on hand to assist with registration, filling tires with air, removing, and then putting pedals back on when riders were ready, and just cheering on the participants!

Thanks to our partnership, 29 new riders successfully completed the program and will ride with confidence!

Our parks thrive because of people who care!

Park stewardship is vital because it protects the natural green spaces we all rely on for clean air, wildlife, and well-being. But stewardship is more than an idea—it takes action and hands-on dedication. The people who volunteer their time, energy, and dedication to care for our parks are truly the best, and none of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers.

Thank you to one of our park stewards who recently sawed through a few large trees, making all of the Grove Park trails accessible. Your time, sweat, and dedication keep these natural spaces beautiful and safe for everyone. Thank you for leading by example and being the ultimate heartbeat of our parks!

As another pool season comes to an end, we want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who spent part of their summer with us!

From families making memories together, to kids spending their days in the water during Summer Day Camp, swim lessons and swim team, we’ve loved watching our pool become a place for our community to gather, relax, and enjoy the summer. Your support, smiles, and continued visits are what make each season so special.

We also want to thank our amazing staff and lifeguards. Their hard work kept everyone safe and the facility clean all season long.

A huge thank you to Mieles Concessions for bringing special events to the patio and preparing amazing food for our patrons!

We’ve had a wonderful season, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it one to remember. We hope you made some great memories with us, and we can’t wait to welcome you back next summer!
