First Ridgeland Church’s LifeServe volunteers and KRB partnered to install a patriotic planting in a special area of Freedom Ridge Park called the Never Forget Garden.

In addition to installing new flowering plants, some of the volunteers walked to the Eco Park, and helped park employees load and move cartloads of limbs and brush. Another group circled the park areas picking up litter.

We had about 30 volunteers of all ages. Children jumped in to help plant, fertilize, and water as well as pick up sticks and litter. Even with summer temperatures we stayed fairly cool in the shade.

We are so grateful to the city workers who spent part of their Saturday helping us, too.

Teamwork is dream work.

Many thanks for for providing KRB with a mini-green grant to purchase the plants and bed amendments.

We think this deserve a share! Think about engaging attendees at your events to leave their area litter-free!

Kudos to the leadership and students of The Pride of Mississippi Marching Band who left NOTHING for us to clean in their section of the stadium! Not even a water bottle or piece of trash to be found!
