Customers can also make a payment free of charge by calling our office at 760-375-5086 or visiting us in person at 500 W. Ridgecrest Blvd, Ridgecrest CA 93555 during business hours. The District encourages customers to pay exclusively through our payment portal to avoid third-party processing delays. We’re always here to help make the process as easy as possible.

The District is pleased to announce Dr. Renee Morquecho as our next General Manager, effective June 1st, 2026. Most recently serving as Chief Engineer, Morquecho brings experience managing capital projects, overseeing budgets, and working with state and federal partners. She holds master’s degrees in Public Health and Civil Engineering, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, and is a licensed Civil Engineer in California.

Her appointment also marks a historic milestone, as she becomes the first female General Manager in District history. We’re excited to see Renee grow in this new role and continue making a positive impact at the District.

We were pleased to have representatives attend the recent California Special Districts Association Roundtable with Supervisor David Couch, where local leaders came together to discuss community updates. The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to stay informed and engaged in serving our customers.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Supervisor David Couch, alongside an incredible group of special district leaders working on the front lines of essential services.

From water infrastructure and groundwater adjudication to public health, parks, and community services, each district brought forward real challenges—and real solutions impacting Kern County residents every day.

The discussion was productive, collaborative, and forward-looking. These are the kinds of conversations that ensure local voices are heard at the county—and soon enough, at the state level.
