State Representative Ed Butler

State Representative Ed Butler State Representative District 41 As a self employed small business man I know the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

My believe in giving back to our community and serve in several organizations to give back. Our children deserve a quality age appropriate education, not an indoctrination. I believe small government is best and that local governments should govern themselves. The government is to serve the citizens not the other way around.

Tonight was a great evening at the Hope Center Ministries Gala in support of a ministry that is making a difference in the lives of others.

I was honored to be one of the special speakers and to hear from guest speakers, listen to powerful testimonials, and watch the generosity of those who came out to support the Hope Center.

The fellowship and stories shared tonight were a great reminder of the impact this ministry is having in our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out tonight and continues to support the Hope Center. There is always hope, and tonight was a great reminder of what can happen when people are willing to help others find it.

Dolly Parton leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service that will endure for generations.

Tennessee was blessed to call her one of our own.
Rest in peace, Dolly.

Grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Fentress County Higher Education Center at Roane State Fentress Campus Community College.

This is a great investment in Fentress County and in the future of our students. Having access to higher education and workforce training close to home creates opportunities that can strengthen our community for years to come.

I was honored to be there and to say a few words as we celebrated this important milestone. Congratulations to everyone who worked to make this facility a reality. I look forward to seeing the students and opportunities that will fill these halls.

God is never far from those who sincerely seek Him. Whatever we may be facing, we can turn to Him with our whole heart and trust that He will meet us there.

Today I had the honor of attending the blessing of Safe Haven Baby Box #33 in Tennessee at Sevier County EMS.

A Safe Haven Baby Box provides a safe, anonymous option for a mother in crisis to surrender her newborn and give that child the greatest gift she can give, the gift of life.

During the 113th and 114th General Assemblies, I worked to strengthen Tennessee's Safe Haven laws. When questions arose about liability and the authority of counties to have these boxes, I sponsored legislation to clarify the law and allow counties to move forward.

It was special to see that work become a reality today.

I was honored to say a few words, but the credit belongs to the many people who have worked tirelessly to make this happen, EMS personnel, county leaders, advocates, and community members who came together to bring this box to Sevier County.

May this box never have to be used. But if that day comes, may it give a mother hope and a child the chance to live.
