Trash Collection Update | Waste Connections has advised the City that their trash truck got a late start this morning due to mechanical issues. The delay is not weather-related.

The truck is now on route, and Waste Connections is sending additional trucks to assist. At this time, they do not anticipate any issues with completing service for all customers today.

Weather Update | Richwood is currently experiencing heavy rainfall, resulting in street flooding in several areas of the city.

Please use extreme caution if you must travel and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown. Many low-lying streets and areas prone to flooding have become impassable.

Our officers are actively monitoring conditions and responding to incidents as needed.

To report street flooding or water approaching your home, please call our flood reporting line at 979-316-3200.

For all other non-emergency needs, please contact Richwood Police Dispatch at 979-265-2222.

For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

We will continue to provide updates as conditions change.

Weather Update - June 16 | Brazoria County remains under a Tropical Storm Watch and Flood Watch. Forecasts continue to indicate the potential for heavy rainfall, localized flooding, gusty winds, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes over the next several days.

City staff are actively monitoring conditions and preparing for potential impacts. Residents are encouraged to stay weather aware, secure outdoor items, avoid driving through flooded roadways, and have multiple ways to receive emergency information.

Heavy Rainfall | Based on recent forecasts and information received from the Texas Department of Emergency Management, our area could receive several inches of rain over the next week, with some forecasts indicating totals may exceed 10 inches.

City staff is actively preparing by:
Staging high-water signs in flood-prone areas
Inspecting drainage systems and removing obstructions where possible
Monitoring weather conditions and coordinating response efforts

Residents should be prepared for some degree of street flooding and increased stormwater runoff in drainage areas.

We also ask for your help by:
• Securing trash cans, lawn furniture, and other loose items that could wash into streets or drainage ditches
• Avoiding driving through flooded roadways
• Monitoring weather conditions and staying informed
