I’d like to take this opportunity to inform our community that we have secured an additional $600,000 to continue improving our city’s infrastructure. These funds were awarded through a Community Development Block Grant.

As Mayor, I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Governor Tate Reeves, U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, and U.S. Representative Congressman Mike Ezell for recognizing the needs of our community and supporting these important improvements.

We are grateful for their continued support as we work to make our city stronger and better for our residents.

Mayor Michael Bo Ruffin

Due to extreme cold temperatures expected next week, starting tonight, everyone is encouraged to drip their water at night to prevent frozen pipes. Please check on your neighbors, avoid traveling unless necessary, and stay safe.

From the Mayor's Desk:

The decision to NOT increase your ad valorem tax millage for 2025-2026 above the current fiscal year's ad valorem tax millage rate means you should not pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment and rental real property unless the assessed value of your property has increased for the fiscal year.

My reign as Mayor I am proud to say with all our accomplishments we have not raised taxes for 16 consecutive years. I thank God for his blessings on our little town.

Mayor, Michael Bo Ruffin

Please stay off the splash pad for now. We know the toys are up and everyone is excited, but we still need to complete the water, electric, and fencing, as well as some landscaping. We still have a good bit to do. Thanks for your understanding!
