✨ SOUTHLAND PROUD: Southland College Prep hosted a rare opportunity for area high school juniors and seniors to meet admissions officers from five top universities at an inspirational and informative LAUNCH Consortium event Monday night. 💡📚

Nearly 500 students and their families from the south suburbs and the Chicago metro area met representatives of five highly selective colleges and universities from across the US.—Cornell University, Emory University, Pomona College, Rice University, and Washington University in St. Louis for LAUNCH.

The LAUNCH Consortium — Linking Access, Unity, Networking, Collaboration and Higher Education — is a collaborative initiative of several top-ranked universities seeking to connect with high-performing, dynamic students across the country.

Dr. Blondean Y. Davis, CEO of Southland College Prep, and Dr. Johnnie Thomas, superintendent of Rich Township High School District 227, joined forces and invited fellow south suburban superintendents and school districts to encourage students and their families to attend this unique opportunity.

Following keynote admission presentations from the five institutions, students and their families were able to visit each respective school's table and get their personal college admissions questions answered.

✨ TONIGHT: Southland is honored to welcome the LAUNCH Collective, bringing admission representatives from five highly selective institutions to our campus for an evening dedicated to college access, preparation and opportunity tonight, August 31st from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

Robert Lane, Southland College Prep Director of College Admissions joined together with Dr. Johnnie Thomas, Superintendent of Rich Township High School District 227 on Saturday Morning's WGN News to share more on what families can expect to gain at the consortium.
