Thanks to an incredible wave of community generosity, we had an amazing turnout at the Bermuda Estates back-to-school bash! We are happy to report that every single school supply found a home, leaving none behind.

This success wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful partners and supporters:
-Backpack Buddies in Charlottesville generously donated 40 backpacks completely filled with school supplies.
-Cinema Cafe - Chester donated 10 movie tickets, which were handed out as a special treat to the first 10 families who arrived.
- Chester Library - Chesterfield County Public Library contributed string bags, fans, bubbles, magnets, and books to stock our Little Library.
-project:HOMES employees stepped up with generous donations of school supplies.
-A special private donation allowed us to purchase extra school supplies and hand out $25 Target gift cards to our high school students.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this event such a huge success for our Bermuda Estates families. What a wonderful way to kick off the school year!

We are deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership and generous support of The Rotary Club of Richmond!

At a recent club luncheon, Tiffani spoke about how this collaboration fuels our Volunteer Services Program, with Brad joining her to celebrate our shared impact. project:HOMES highlighted how this support empowers us to make homes safer and more accessible across our community. To put the scale of the program into perspective during FY24 alone, we completed 925 home repair projects, including:

-322 critical home repairs
-182 wheelchair ramps
-174 temporary heating and cooling solutions

This partnership goes far beyond funding. Last year, Rotary members rolled up their sleeves directly in the field, installing 4 wheelchair ramps at clients' homes and constructing components for 24 additional ramps at our on-site workshop!

Thank you, Rotary Club of Richmond, for your dedication, exceptional generosity, and commitment to contributing to our mission of improving lives by improving homes.

Watch how our three-story, nine-unit modular apartment building on Mosby Street came together in a flash. While the stacking phase is complete, the remaining interior and exterior work continues as we bring this affordable housing project closer to the finish line.

Celebrating 50 years of keeping homes safe, warm, and energy-efficient! 🏡⚡

Our Energy Conservation team recently headed to Virginia Beach for the annual Virginia Weatherization Interchange, hosted by Community Housing Partners and sponsored by Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow efficiency experts, dive into evolving weatherization standards, and celebrate a massive milestone: the 50th anniversary of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)!

Since 1976, WAP has lowered utility bills, improved indoor health, and upgraded thousands of homes. At project:HOMES, we are deeply proud to carry on this legacy and continue making a lasting impact right here in Virginia.

Did you drive across the MLK Jr. Memorial/Leigh Street Bridge last week and wonder what's going on along Mosby and O Street? We've got the answer!

Crews spent last week bringing a new three-story, nine-unit building to life on Mosby Street using modular, off-site construction by stacking the pre-made units together like building blocks.

We're working alongside Pittsburgh-based homebuilding startup Module and local nonprofit UrbanHopeRVA to bring new affordable housing options to Richmond's East End. This project is supported by a grant from Virginia Housing. We are so thankful to collaborate with leaders who share our mission: improving lives by improving homes. Together we're shaping a more accessible and inclusive future for all.

Stay tuned for more updates! 🏡

For this Throwback Thursday, we are looking back to early 2016 when project:HOMES hit an incredible milestone: installing our 1,000th accessibility ramp!

Reaching that goal meant so much to our team, but more importantly, it allowed us to make a lasting, tangible impact on neighbors across Richmond and throughout Virginia.

What makes this memory even better? Bill, who is pictured here working on that milestone ramp, is still volunteering with us to this day. We are endlessly grateful for Bill and all of our dedicated, long-term volunteers who keep our mission of improving lives by improving homes, moving forward year after year.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey! 🔨
