Madison County Emergency Communications Center is looking for the next members of our team—people who can stay calm under pressure, listen, communicate and make a difference when it matters most.

We’re NOW HIRING 911 Telecommunicators!

🔴 FULL-TIME 911 TELECOMMUNICATOR RECRUIT
💰 Starting Pay: $21/hour
🎓 Paid DOCT training provided for non-certified hires

🔵 PART-TIME 911 TELECOMMUNICATOR
💰 Starting Pay: $24/hour
🎓 DOCTJ Certification Required

Madison County Fire Department crews have been assembling wheelbarrows to support residents impacted by recent flooding.

These will be distributed to flood victims to assist with debris removal and cleanup as recovery efforts continue.

Congratulations to Madison County Firefighters Austin Martin, Brayden Thacker, and Nathaniel Wells on their graduation from The Fire Academy of Kentucky.

Throughout the academy, recruits complete demanding physical training, emergency response drills, hazardous materials instruction, and hands-on firefighting techniques while meeting strict performance standards.

This accomplishment reflects discipline, dedication, and a strong commitment to serving others. We are proud to recognize Austin, Brayden, and Nate as they continue their service to Madison County.

Madison County firefighters recently completed trench rescue training in Berea, Kentucky.

Trench rescue incidents can happen during underground utility work, construction projects, or other excavation emergencies where unstable soil creates dangerous conditions.

During the class, firefighters trained on stabilization techniques, rescue operations, and protective systems used to help prevent further collapse.

This type of specialized training helps ensure crews are prepared to respond safely and effectively when these emergencies occur.

Expanding Fire Protection in Madison County 🚒

We are excited to give our community a first look at our new fire station in Northern Madison County. A few of our firefighters had the opportunity to visit the site recently and it is great to see things starting to take shape!

This is a milestone for our department and for the community we are proud to serve.

All current fire service and coverage will remain in place. This is an expansion of services.

We look forward to continuing to share updates as this project progresses.

International Firefighters Day 🚒

Today, we honor the men and women who run toward danger so others can reach safety. Our firefighters serve with courage, dedication, and selflessness every single day.

That commitment goes far beyond the call. It is built through countless hours of training and preparation, strengthened through the trust of teammates who rely on each other shift after shift, and felt throughout our neighborhoods, from installing smoke alarms in homes to engaging with children at Touch-a-Truck and connecting with the next generation at job fairs.

Madison County is grateful for the service of every firefighter in our community and around the world. Thank you for your commitment to keeping us safe.
