Join us on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Veterans Affairs Health Care Center, located at 10432 Patriot Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408-2628.

Candlelight Vigil Service will take place on September 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Health Care Center.

The fair will be held on the first floor in the main entryway hall. Veterans can connect with VA programs and community partners, receive helpful information and resources, pick up Veterans Crisis Line giveaways, and receive food boxes provided by the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank.

Richmond Fisher House 2 recently celebrated its sixth anniversary — marking six years of providing a home away from home for families and caregivers while their Veterans and service members receive care at the Richmond VA Medical Center.

Since opening in 2020, Fisher House 2 has been more than a place to stay. It’s a place where families can rest, find support and, most importantly, remain close to the people they love during some of life’s most challenging moments.

During the celebration, caregivers shared what Fisher House has meant to their families, while current and former staff members were recognized for the compassion and dedication they bring to the mission every day.

As one caregiver put it: “It’s like I’m at home, but it’s just a different home.”

Here’s to six years of service, support and keeping Veterans and their families together when it matters most.

This Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, we recognize the Richmond VA Spinal Cord Injury & Disorders Center’s long history of serving Veterans with specialized, comprehensive care.

Established in 1947, Richmond’s SCI/D Center is one of the nation’s original spinal cord injury treatment facilities and is now the largest SCI/D Center in the VA system. As a key regional referral hub, the center advances care through telehealth, innovation, research, clinical education, and its partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University.
