Join us for public workshops on a concept paper that explores potential refinery rule amendments to reduce flaring emissions and frequency and strengthen flare monitoring and reporting.

🏭 Flares are devices used to control and safely burn excess gases from various industrial processes. While flaring reduces the potential impacts of unburned emissions releases by oxidizing hydrocarbons primarily to carbon dioxide and water, flares can generate other impacts, including emissions, noise and large visible flames.

📝 Public comments on the concept paper are due by October 5 at 5 p.m. at comments.baaqmd.gov.

CCTA, BORP Adaptive Sports and Recreation, and Independent Living Resources are hosting the final free adaptive cycling pop-up:

Try handcycles, therapeutic trikes and other adaptive bikes with support from experienced staff. No experience is needed, all ages are welcome, and family and friends can participate.

AC Transit is hosting its Final Community Open House for the Macdonald Avenue and Cutting Boulevard Transit Improvement Project, and residents are invited to learn about the proposed changes and share feedback. The project is exploring upgrades designed to improve travel along both corridors for bus riders, drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians, including potential changes to curb space.
