🎓 Congratulations to Assistant Chief James Doll! 🎓

As graduation season begins, the Richmond Police Department is proud to recognize Assistant Chief James Doll on graduating from the University of Louisville with a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.

A criminal justice degree from the University of Louisville is highly respected within the law enforcement profession, due in part to the university’s connection to the Southern Police Institute.

Assistant Chief Doll previously earned a Master of Public Administration, and obtaining two graduate degrees while actively serving in law enforcement is a rare accomplishment within the profession.

The Richmond Police Department congratulates Assistant Chief Doll on this outstanding milestone and his continued commitment to professional development, leadership, and public service.

Please join us in congratulating Assistant Chief Doll on this incredible achievement! 👏

Future investigators in the making! 🕵️‍♂️🔍

The Richmond Police Department Detectives had a great time teaching a CSI class to some talented LOGOS students! From lifting fingerprints to analyzing evidence, these students got a hands-on look at what it takes to solve a case.

We love seeing the next generation engage with law enforcement and learn the science behind the badge. Who knows? We might be looking at some future Richmond PD Detectives right here!

ARREST NOTICE: Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Felony Theft Charges

The Richmond Police Department Investigative Services Division (ISD) and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department have successfully apprehended Jesse Maiden following a comprehensive investigation into a series of local thefts.

The arrest is the culmination of a lengthy investigation led by Detective Amanda Thackrey of the Richmond Police Department's Investigative Services Division. Jesse Maiden was identified as a suspect in numerous thefts across the area. The investigation originally began in February 2026 following a theft report at a local hotel.

Maiden was taken into custody on May 3rd near Holsapple Rd on an outstanding warrant for Theft with a Prior Conviction, a Level 6 Felony. This case highlights the dedication of our Investigative Services Division, who have been tracking these incidents since they first originated at a local hotel back in February.

Mr. Maiden's arrest is a mere accusation. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Richmond Police Department would like to thank the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Wayne County Emergency Operations Center for their continued partnership in keeping our community safe.

That’s a wrap!

Six of our own supervisors, along with two from Wi******er PD, and one from our own Wayne County Sheriff’s Office completed more leadership training this week!

They completed the Command Leadership Institute portion hosted by two respected leaders in their field, Dr. Todd Radford and Luis Soler.

Leadership is constant learning. It is learning how to lead different ideas, groups, and mindsets to a common goal. It’s never ending and we’ll never stop.
