Lyons is an educator and community organizer, and the Executive Director of Sacred Heart Center, which connects Latino families with tools to thrive and flourish. Come out to PeaceFest on Sept. 20 to hear from Lyons and learn more about Sacred Heart Center.

Volunteers are needed for PeaceFest ’26

✌🏻PeaceFest is a volunteer-run event that invites the community to celebrate diversity, engage with each other and local organizations, and embrace the theme “Nurturing Our Community, Body, Mind, and Soul.”

☮️To help make the event successful, please consider signing up for a volunteer shift to:

☀️Set up and take down the event (tents, tables, move chairs)
☀️Serve as an event marshall to provide assistance
☀️Welcome guests and provide event information
☀️Support performers
☀️Help as needed throughout event to provide a clean, peaceful, and fun event.

Suggested age is 14 and up, and some activities involve lifting, carrying, and walking.

PeaceFest returns to the Byrd Park Roundhouse on Sunday, September 20 from 1-5 pm. This year’s theme is “Nurturing Our Community, Body, Mind, and Soul.”

We’re excited to share a few of the performers and speakers for PeaceFest ’26, including:
* Ram Bhagat and Drums No Guns
* Music and stories from water protectors Holy River
* Duron Chavis, urban farmer and educator (Sankofa Community Orchard, Happily Natural Day)
* Lyons Sanchezconcha, Executive Director of Sacred Heart Center

Visit with non-profit organizations and participate in workshops, yoga, and resistance singing.

We also invite everyone to Picnic for Peace! Bring lunch and lounge on the lawn while our speakers tell us how they nurture our community.
