A new federal work requirement is coming in 2027 to Medicaid Expansion members. Advocates can help members stay informed. Virginia Medicaid will share clear information ahead of time, so you and your loved ones know what to expect. Virginia Medicaid will provide resources and advance notice to help eligible members understand upcoming changes and maintain coverage.

More immediately, Medicaid is changing for non-U.S. citizens starting on October 1, 2026.

Visit the dmas.virginia.gov to learn more about changes to Medicaid coverage and how they may affect you.

September is Pain Awareness Month, an annual global campaign to help spread awareness of issues related to pain and pain management. Pain can come in many forms, from injury recovery to endometriosis to arthritis.

Pain can result from inflammation in parts of the body, damage to the nervous system, psychological stressors, and more. During Pain Awareness Month, RHHD emphasizes the importance of building a relationship with a primary care provider (P*P). Having a P*P who knows your medical history can help you manage your pain by providing health guidance that is personal to your lived experience.

Visit rhhd.gov/connect-pc to find a local primary care provider near you. If you or a loved one are struggling with substance use, visit SAMHSA's findtreatment.gov for resources.

988 Day is September 8th and is for showing up — and caring out loud. Mental health matters. And 988 provides judgment-free support 24/7. On 9/8, help spread the word that help is just three numbers away.

Post. Share. Text. Check in. However you show up, it counts.

//

Publique. Comparta. Envíe un mensaje de texto. Comuníquese. No importa cómo participe, su presencia cuenta.
