Don't miss your chance! The survey closes at midnight on September 11, 2026.

The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) is conducting the 2026 Virginia Small Business Survey as part of Governor Spanberger’s Comprehensive Economic Development Policy. Your input will help provide valuable insight into the challenges, opportunities, and needs facing small businesses across the Commonwealth, and can help inform future policies, programs, and legislative priorities.

The survey takes approximately 15–20 minutes and includes 51 questions, most of which are multiple choice.

Whether you're a new entrepreneur or an established business owner, your perspective can help shape what comes next for Virginia’s small business community.

Congratulations to The Hague Group LLC in Luray! 🎉

This small business recently secured financing to acquire a commercial property that will be transformed into new museum, bringing a unique cultural and educational resource to the Luray community.

The project was financed through a Blue Ridge Bank N.A. term loan, supported by the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA) Cash Collateral Program. The museum is owned by a college professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and published author, bringing together entrepreneurship, education, and community engagement in an exciting new venture.

This growing private school recently secured financing through the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA) to support the acquisition of commercial real estate that will allow the school to accommodate its increasing enrollment.

The project was made possible through VSBFA financing in partnership with United Bank, which provided the senior commercial real estate financing. This investment will help Community Christian Academy expand its space and continue serving Charlottesville-area families as its school community grows.

This week, Cohort 5 of the Construction Contractor Series welcomed Hourigan to share practical insights on Project Management and the strategies small contractors can use to manage projects more effectively.

Presented by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) in partnership with Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development, this 12-week, no-cost program connects small construction contractors with experienced industry leaders and subject matter experts who provide real-world guidance on the business side of construction.

From project management and estimating to bonding, access to capital, procurement, and more, participants are building the knowledge and relationships they need to strengthen their businesses and pursue new opportunities.
