WE WILL NEVER FORGET 9/11

Today, we pause to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent people who were murdered in the brutal attacks of September 11, 2001.

We will also always remember those who lost loved ones on this day twenty-five years ago, thank the first responders who kept us safe, and honor all who defend our country.

VEIS DRILLS

On Wednesday, the crews from Engine 2 and Truck 3 were out honing a critical, life-saving skill known as VEIS (Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search).

When normal doors or entryways are blocked by heavy fire or intense heat, VEIS allows our firefighters to make rapid entry directly into a specific room—usually through a window—to locate and rescue trapped victims.

How it works:

🪟 Vent: Accessing the room via an exterior window.

🏃 Enter: Making entry quickly to reach the victim.

🚪 Isolate: Immediately closing the bedroom door to keep heat and toxic smoke out.

🔍 Search: Performing a rapid search and making the rescue.

Realistic training keeps our firefighters sharp, fast, and ready to respond when seconds count most. Great work by Engine 2 and Truck 3! 🚒💨

🚒 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻! 🎨

Our mysterious friend, 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗘𝘀𝗾., has been at it again—and this time, he’s honoring someone who spends his days serving and protecting our community.

Cletus has donated his latest creation to 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in appreciation for his leadership and unwavering support of the Richmond Hill community.🚒❤️

The artwork will now have a home at Fire Station #1, where firefighters, visitors, and hopefully a few curious Cletus detectives can enjoy it for years to come.
Who is Cletus? 🤔

Well… we still don’t know. And somehow, that makes each new creation even more fun.

Thank you, Cletus, for continuing to surprise us, make us laugh, celebrate our community, and remind us that art can be mysterious, meaningful, and a whole lot of fun.
