CALEA is the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The Richmond Heights Police Department first became CALEA accredited in 2008 and has remained accredited since that time.

In order to receive accreditation, the police department must submit to annual policy and file assessments which are conducted by a client service manager off-site. Every four years, a site-based assessment occurs where CALEA assessors travel to the agency to determine if re-accreditation will be awarded. Each assessment includes reviews of written policies, procedures, actual practices, and inspection of city equipment and facilities. The Richmond Heights Police Department takes our commitment to service and community to the next level. Our vision is to maintain the highest standards of excellence in all facets of policing. The department strives to be considered by our community and our profession as one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the region.

What an amazing day at the British Swim School “Splash Bash” held at The Heights!💦🎉

We had a fantastic turnout and the event was packed with fun and valuable activities for families. From hands-on CPR training to a bubble machine that kept the kids smiling, there was something for everyone!

A huge thank you to the Swim On Foundation for providing lifejackets to help keep our community safe around water, and of course… the snow cones were a big hit! 🍧

Richmond Heights Police Department was proud to be part of the day, giving tours of our police cars and connecting with families in a fun, relaxed environment.

Events like this make a real impact—bringing safety, education, and community together all in one place. We’re grateful to be a part of it!

Stay tuned for more great events ahead!

Please be safe if the forecasted storm hits our area this weekend. If you MUST be on the roads, please drive slowly and carefully and always buckle up. Follow the US National Weather Service Saint Louis Missouri page for the latest storm updates.

Reminder: Do not call 9-1-1 for power outages, only life threatening emergencies!

Here is a link to the updated Warming Center list.https://www.211helps.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Warming-Centers-Data-with-KC-12.2.2025.pdf

Confidence is increasing in accumulating snow across most of the area this weekend as a winter storm tracks across the region. Highest chances of significant snowfall are currently along/south of I-70, but even light snow will be able to cause travel impacts. Monitor additional forecast updates as confidence increases.
