This year, Officer Ezra Castle was nominated for this honor. Officer Castle exemplifies professionalism, service, and dedication to the community. He consistently goes above and beyond—whether supporting fellow officers, assisting residents, or helping strengthen trust within our community.

Captain Miller was proud to attend the event alongside Officer Castle and show his support.

🚨 FLOODING ALERT 🚨

Richland Hills experienced major flooding in several areas today. Police, Fire, and Code Compliance personnel have been actively responding by blocking flooded streets and assisting stranded motorists.

While the rain has currently stopped and some floodwaters have receded, additional rainfall could quickly cause flooding to return.

⚠️ Please avoid travel during rainstorms unless it is absolutely necessary.

🌊 Turn Around, Don’t Drown 🌊

Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways, especially when water is flowing over the curb. Conditions can change rapidly, and water depth may be hard to judge.

If you become stranded in your vehicle:
🚨 Stay inside your vehicle and call 911 for assistance.

Areas currently of greatest concern include:
• Airline Dr. (Creek Trail Park)/Leslie Dr./Norma Ln.
• 7700 Glenview Dr. (near Burger Box)
• 3600–3900 blocks of Booth Calloway Rd.
• 7400–7600 blocks of Evergreen Rd.

Please continue to monitor weather conditions and stay safe.

Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and defending our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our administrative offices are closed today and will open Tuesday, May 26 @ 7:30am. We are still here if you need us though, 911 for emergencies or 817-281-1000 for non-emergencies/dispatch.

As we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day weekend, please make safety a priority.

If your plans include alcohol, make a plan for a sober ride home before you head out. Designate a sober driver (non-drinker), call a friend, or use a rideshare service.
Don’t let one bad decision turn a holiday weekend into a tragedy. Drive sober and help keep our roads safe for everyone. 🚔
