๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ If you ever need a reason to feel good about our community? Look no further than RCHS Scholarship Night.

Two weeks ago today, Richland Center High School celebrated the Class of 2026 and the incredible support they received from the people of Richland County and beyond. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, civic organizations, memorial funds, families, and community supporters, nearly 90 scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors.

In total, more than $500,000 in scholarships and awards were presented, recognizing achievements in academic performance, technical skills, leadership, community involvement, work ethic, even kindness and character.

Whether graduates are headed to college, technical school, apprenticeships, military service, or directly into the workforce, they do so with the support of a community that wants to see them succeed. To everyone who contributes to these scholarshipsโ€”thank you for helping open doors for the next generation of Hornets. ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ Construction may be most visible at RCHS right now, but there's plenty happening behind the scenes at RCIS as well!

Thanks to the hard work of our teachers and staff, who had classrooms packed and ready to go before the school year even ended, crews were able to get started almost immediately. In just the first week, old ceilings and ductwork have been removed, work is underway to bring air conditioning throughout the building, new electrical systems are being installed, bathroom renovations have begun, and the band room's tiered floor has been leveled into one continuous space.

It's exciting to see these projects taking shape and to watch the vision for a modernized RCIS begin to come to life. We know construction can create a few inconveniences along the way, but we're grateful for the support of our community and the investment you've made in our students, staff, and facilities. ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ Here we go!

With the final event in the RCHS auditorium wrapping up yesterday, work on the high school parking lot renovation is now in full swing. As construction ramps up, please be aware that some entrances and traffic patterns have changed.

๐ŸŽบ Summer Band Lessons: High School - Enter through Door 10 on the back side of the building. (We apologize for any confusion, as this is a change from previous instructions.) Middle School - Enter through Door #16.

๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Summer Weightlifting: Enter through Door 28 near the training room on the back side of the building.

๐Ÿ“š Summer School & High School Office Business: Enter through Door 2 near the East Commons entrance.

๐Ÿš— Traffic in the back lane should travel east to west, entering from Hive Drive and exiting via Hornet High Road.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as these exciting improvements get underway. We'll continue to share updates as construction progresses and traffic patterns evolve. ๐Ÿงก

After a week at home with your family, you may be wondering if you actually share DNA with these people. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Good thing our 7th graders learned about DNA mutations before summer break!
A game of Telephone was the perfect way to model what happens when DNA is copied. The original whisper represented the original DNA strand, and every misheard word became a mutation. As the message traveled down the line, students saw how even a tiny change can be passed on and dramatically alter the final outcome.
Just like a small mistake can turn a simple phrase into complete nonsense, a tiny change in DNA can completely change the genetic code. Science is everywhereโ€”even in a game we've all played!

๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ What a way to finish!

Congratulations to Danica Pauls, who closed out her Hornet track and field career by earning 8th place at the WIAA State Track & Field Championships with a vault of 10โ€™6โ€.

It's been a memorable senior season for Danica, and we're proud to see her finish her Hornet career at the state meet. Congratulations on a great performance and an outstanding career at RCHS! ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ Day 1(+) of the WIAA State Track & Field Championships is in the books!

After a long evening filled with lightning delays and plenty of uncertainty, our Hornets represented Richland Center well on Wisconsin's biggest stage. The boys' 4x800 relay team competed early in the day, prior to any weather issues, and finished an impressive 14th, while freshman Owen Drier battled through an overnight lightning delay to place 9th in the 3200-meter run this morning.

We're incredibly proud of these athletes for their hard work, perseverance, and the way they represented Hornet Nation all season long. ๐Ÿงก

The action isn't over yet! Today, Danica Pauls will compete in the pole vault as she looks to add another chapter to an outstanding season.

Good luck, Danicaโ€”and Go Hornets! ๐Ÿ
