Friends of Rawley Park

Friends of Rawley Park The Friends of Rawley Park is a volunteer organization in Richford, NY, dedicated to improving Rawley Park for the benefit of our community.

The Friends of Rawley Park began as an idea raised by Cyndi Herrick in the summer of 2015 to bring together the community and make park improvement suggestions a reality. As Cyndi shared her idea it turned out there were many people in our community that were full of enthusiasm to make a difference and improve our town park facilities. The Friends of Rawley Park was born and hit the ground running

with short term clean up plans ("We want to see the creek!") and a long term vision of updated facilities, greater use of the grounds, and growing community ownership. In our first summer we secured a grant from the Hooker Foundation to conduct an updated survey of the park property from which to develop a master plan for facilities. Come check out the changes or get involved! Ideas and volunteers welcome. Help keep the momentum going! Everyone can make a difference.

“Love Your Park” events were held around NY this weekend! I want to thank our amazing volunteers who came and cleaned up Rawley Park; getting it ready for spring and summertime activities. Picnic tables, the kitchen, bathrooms, and the ping-pong table were scrubbed down. Branches were collected, and the basketball court was cleaned off. Weeds were trimmed and the water was turned on for the season!

A big thank you goes out too Pam Cunningham, Mindi and Chuck Moniz and Charlie and Vicki Davis. Please keep it looking great so we all can enjoy it!
Remember, it is a carry in, carry-out park. Thank you!

GREAT NEWS Richford! We WON THE GRANT to replace the large pavilion roof! Thank you for the letters of support! There are a lot of details to go through with the state, but we are on our way to getting a new roof. Yay!
