Dear Richfield Residents,
Governor Spencer Cox has encouraged Utahns to avoid the use of personal fireworks this Fourth of July due to extremely dry conditions throughout the state.

Each year, the Richfield City Fire Department and Richfield City Police Department respond to several fires caused by fireworks during the days surrounding Independence Day. This year, the risk is even greater because of the exceptionally dry conditions in our area.

Richfield City encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the City’s professional fireworks display on July 4 at dark and to consider taking a year off from using personal fireworks. Our trained and certified firefighters will be conducting the display and are prepared to address potential fire hazards associated with the event.

At this time, Richfield City is not banning the use of personal fireworks. However, we urge everyone to carefully consider the risks involved. A single firework can quickly ignite dry vegetation and lead to a devastating fire that threatens homes, property, and lives.

Please remember that individuals who start a fire through the use of personal fireworks may be held financially responsible for the costs associated with suppressing the fire and any resulting damages. These costs can be substantial.

We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to helping keep our community safe this Independence Day. Together, we can celebrate our nation’s freedom while protecting our homes, neighborhoods, and surrounding public lands.

MEMORIAL DAY FLOWER REMOVAL

ALL Memorial Day decorations and flowers must be removed from the Richfield City Cemetery before 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 31, 2026. At that time, the cemetery maintenance department will begin its regular maintenance program. If you would like to salvage your OWN flowers and decorations, please remove them before said date and time. In consideration of past problems, please remove only those decorations from grave sites that are your own.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Regarding the Richfield Light Festival
Due to current high-risk fire conditions, local and state fire officials have advised against the lantern launch planned for Friday evening. This decision was not taken lightly, but the safety of our community will always come first.

As previously stated, all lantern sales are final.
While we share in disappointment, we are excited to still gather together for an incredible evening! The Richfield Light Festival will continue as planned, with activities including laser tag, inflatables, STEM activities, co****le, nine-square, music, dancing, and a variety of amazing food trucks. The night will end with a spectacular light show of fireworks that you won’t want to miss!

We truly appreciate your understanding and support. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and kick off spring together.

Summer Tennis 2026
YOUTH CURRENTLY IN 3RD-11TH GRADE!

Get active this summer by playing tennis! This program offers youth to learn the fundamentals of tennis all while keeping active and busy throughout the summer! Youth going into 6th grade can do the elementary or middle school group, and youth going into 9th grade can do middle school or high school.

Fee: 3rd-5th Grade: $50.00
6th-12th Grade: $100.00
