Richfield Historical Society Our Mission is to save and share the history of Richfield, WI

The mission of the Richfield Historical Society is to discover, collect, preserve and promote the history of the Village of Richfield. The 29-acre Richfield Historical Park, owned by the Village of Richfield and managed by the Richfield Historical Society, has seen vast development in restoration, refurbishing and expansion of the buildings on site. The site was placed on the State Register of Historic Places in 2006 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. Social and fund-raising activities as well as several educational programs for all ages sponsored by the Society provide opportunities for the community to enjoy local events and become more aware of the history of the Richfield community. This weekend is Blacksmith Days at the Richfield Historical Society - and admission is completely free.

Blacksmith Day is 9 am to 4 pm.

Richfield Nature & Historical Park
1896 Hwy 164 Richfield WI

Come out and enjoy the beautiful fall colors, take a walk through the park, and experience live blacksmith demonstrations along with other activities.

While you're here, you can purchase fresh maple syrup and local honey made right in our community.

And yes - the park is dog friendly, so bring your well‑behaved pups along for the day.

Blacksmith Days will be hosted alongside the Richfield WI Farmers Market, giving you a full Saturday of local makers, farmers, and hands‑on history.

Richfield Farmers Market Saturday • 10 AM-1 PM All your weekly favorites will be there with produce, meat, bakery, flowers, coffee, and everything you need for the weekend.

We are proud to support Andrew from Troop 139 Hubertus WI and his food drive!

We will be collecting donations the next 2 weekends at Richfield WI Farmers Market from 10 am to 1 pm and Blacksmith Family Day at Richfield Historical Park from 9 am to 4 pm.

A 15-year-old Richfield Boy Scout is working to earn his Eagle Scout badge through a food drive benefiting the Wisconsin Homeless Veterans Initiative.

Why Did the Braves Leave Milwaukee? Find the answer at the Richfield Historical Society’s program on Thursday, September 24, 7 pm, at the Richfield Fire Hall (2008 Hwy 175). Everyone is invited. Free program; donations welcomed.

Patrick Steele, author of the book, Home of the Braves: The Battle for Baseball in Milwaukee, will share his thoughts on ‘Why the Braves Left Milwaukee’. He will talk about the business of baseball in the 1960s, the tensions between team owners and Milwaukee’s civic leaders, and the impact of the Green Bay Packers’ success on the city’s sports culture.

This afternoon, Eagle Scout candidate Andrew picked up the items donated at the Thresheree this past weekend. He is collecting food items and toiletries to go to homeless vets. He is almost half way to his goal of 10,000 items. Way to go Andrew! You can help by bringing your donations to the RHS booth at the Richfield WI Farmers Market

The 27th annual RHS Thresheree and Harvest Festival is now over. The dismal forecast for rain all weekend didn't pan out, at least during the day. Other than a little mud, the event went on without any major problems. Thanks to all the volunteers who made this possible and all who came to support the park.
