***JOB OPENING*** Sevier County is seeking qualified applicants to fill several positions as an AEMT/Paramedic PRN (as needed). These individuals must be able to work an average of one 12-hour shift per week. On occasion a 24-hour shift may be needed. These are not on-call positions or shifts.

The successful applicants will perform a variety of emergency medical response duties as needed to deliver at-the-scene medical care. Operate ambulance to provide emergency medical transport.
AEMT: Full performance (within scope and practice) at-the-scene advanced life support (ALS) services.
Paramedic: Para-professional and full performance (within scope and practice) at-the-scene paramedic services.

Minimum qualifications for this position are graduation from high school or equivalent; must be a Utah Licensed AEMT and one (1) year of work experience or must be a Utah Licensed Paramedic and two (2) years of work experience of the job description related duties.

!!!JOB OPENING!!! Sevier County is seeking applicants for a Landfill Operator for the County Landfill. If you like an outdoor atmosphere and working with a great team, this is a position for you!

The successful applicant will perform skilled tasks in the operation and maintenance of the County Landfill using heavy duty equipment and vehicles; responds to requests and concerns from the public; monitors loads and reclaimed areas to meet state and federal permits.

Minimum qualifications for this position are graduation from high school or equivalent and some experience in operating medium to heavy equipment. You must possess a valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and able to pass ICC physical and maintain medical certificate.

Sevier County offers a full benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance as well as disability, 401k with a match and participation in the Utah State Retirement System. You will also receive 240 hours of PTO per year that increases with years of service.

The Sevier County Economic Development Office has matching grant funds available to support the expansion of local businesses. The funding source has a maximum available of $200,000.

โ€ข Up to 5 grants will be awarded for up to $5,000

โ€ข The remaining funds will be awarded on a $10,000 minimum with a maximum of $100,000.

โ€ข If a company has received an award before 2026, it may apply again but only up to a maximum of $100,000 cumulative.

โ€ข This program is not available to start-up entities.

โ€ข Awardees may be required to meet with the Small Business Development Center to develop a comprehensive business plan (2 months to complete).

โ€ข Awardees may also be required to attend business management course.

The program is a 50% match outlay. For example, if a business needs to purchase equipment that costs $30,000, the grant will match up to $15,000. Funds are sent as a reimbursement basis.

Visit our website for the list of items that a business needs to submit for review. The list is not meant to be burdensome but still allows for a comprehensive review of the company. The selection criteria are based on the proposal that provides the greatest benefit to the local economy. Factors such job creation or a substantial increase in sales tax generation will be considered, for example. Other benefits can be proposed as well. Each business should describe how the grant will result in increased business activity that will in turn benefit the local economy.

Preference is for responses to be submitted via email. We recommend combining all documents in a single pdf-formatted file and sending them to [email protected].

The deadline is April 17 by 5:00 p.m.
