A Landscape Painting Retreat at Richfield Heritage Preserve
October 12-16, 2026

Spend a week immersed in watercolor and the quiet beauty of Richfield Heritage Preserve, a lush landscape of forested trails and reflective lakes in northeast Ohio. This inspiring setting invites artists to slow down, look closely, and translate the landscape into watercolor.
Open to artists of all levels, this retreat blends studio learning with outdoor painting. Through demonstrations, guided sessions, and thoughtful discussion, you’ll explore ways to simplify complex scenes and capture light, atmosphere, and a sense of place. Each day balances instruction with time for exploration. Mornings introduce essential watercolor concepts and techniques, while afternoons are spent painting along wooded trails and lakeshores with individualized guidance to support each artist’s unique approach.

BRIDLE TRAILS ARE OPEN!

Saddle up and enjoy the trails responsibly! Please follow these important trail rules to help keep everyone safe and protect our natural areas:

✅ Trails are open sunrise to sunset
✅ Ride ONLY on marked equestrian trails
✅ Horses must be under control at all times
✅ Ride single file when approaching another rider from either direction
✅ Keep right, pass on the left, and announce yourself before passing
✅ Pedestrians should yield to equestrians and use caution when meeting or passing horseback riders. Be prepared to stop and move off the trail when necessary.

Today, we celebrate our planet and the people who help protect it every day. We are incredibly grateful for the many volunteers who work tirelessly on habitat restoration projects, dedicating their time, energy, and passion to restoring natural spaces areas in the park.

Every invasive species removed, and native habitat restored makes a lasting difference. Your commitment helps create healthier ecosystems, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future.

Story Hour in the Park
Join the fun for an outdoor story hour with Miss Diane at the
Richfield Heritage Preserve. Enjoy an hour of stories, rhymes,
music, movement, and more. Each session we will explore a
different nature theme.
This program will take place at the Waterfront Shelter; available seating is limited so bring a blanket, or camp chairs. Please keep in mind that this program is held outdoors so dress accordingly, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and closed-toe shoes are recommended. As June arrives, the park comes alive with the sights and sounds of summer. Longer days and warm evenings make this the perfect time to get outside, reconnect with nature, and enjoy everything the season has to offer.
Keep an eye out for butterflies, songbirds, and blooming wildflowers throughout the trails.
Whether you're visiting for a morning walk, a family picnic, or one of our upcoming events, there’s something special waiting for everyone.

🐾 Friendly Reminder to All Pet Owners 🐾

Please remember to bag and properly dispose of your pet’s waste while enjoying the park. There are several locations throughout the park stocked with waste bags and nearby trash cans to help keep the park clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.
