Recently, 3 members of Richfield Fire Department participated in a Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue Course in Dayton, OH. Through this training, RFD will be better prepared to respond to emergency animal rescues in Richfield and neighboring communities.

Update on SR 21 resurfacing project in Richfield:

NEW IMPACT – On Monday, May 4, 2026, the ramp from I-77 north to SR 21 north will be CLOSED for resurfacing. The detour will be I-77 north to I-80/Ohio Turnpike exit to SR 21.


CONTINUING IMPACT - SR 21 between I-77 to the Cuyahoga County line has various lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion, late August 2026.

On Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28, the ramp from I-77 north to SR 21 north will be closed daily between 7 AM and 5 PM for milling and resurfacing. The detour will be I-77 north to I-80/Ohio Turnpike exit to SR 21.
