Senate District 8 Delegates,

My name is Mack Simpson and I am the Chair of Precinct 2506 (formerly 1706). I am writing to you today to express my endorsement for James White in his race for SDEC Committeeman.

James is more than capable of speaking on his own behalf to his wealth of practical experience, so what I'd like to speak to are my impressions from having worked closely with him on Democratic projects over the past couple of years.

James, first and foremost, gets results. From County Party committees, to club functions, to fundraising, to candidate forums, to chairing the SD8 Convention (efficiently, I might add, in only three hours from gavel to gavel), James sets goals, reaches consensus in how to get there and then creatively and cleverly executes the plan until the desired result is achieved.

James is a Progressive activist who doesn't limit his activities to wine and cheese fundraising for a select circle of professional acquaintances (and where the emphasis is often more on the party than the Party).

No, James works, and his work at building the Party is of the brow sweat and shoe leather sort.

Almost equally important to me, coming from the perspective of the industry I am in, James approaches the challenge of organizing Democrats in our area with creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. His strategies are rationally sound, workable and goal-focused, but the ideas themselves-- the "hooks" in my parlance-- are surprising, unique and generally achieve greater effectiveness than your typical political playbook probationer.

In other words, he gets things done, and how he gets them done gets Democrats noticed, raises our profile and puts us on the path to even greater gains in the future.

I won't get into the brouhaha brought about by James' opponent in the race other than to say I find his line of personal attack-by-innuendo, conspiracy and denigration of beliefs to be personally offensive and something I'd expect to emanate, putrid and foul-smelling, from Republican circles.

Not ours.

I support James White. Enthusiastically and wholeheartedly. I support him for the positive impact he has made in Democratic politics and I support him for the creativity and ingenuity he will bring to the SDEC.

I support him because he is, by far, the best candidate in the race.

Sincerely,

-- Mack Simpson
