SOFTBALL UPDATE: Different this year.... ALL County 4-H Softball Games - teams will be mixed between clubs and ages. Sign up via Sign Up Genius each week by Wednesday for upcoming Sunday (see link below).

We ARE still waiting for confirmation from Rice Lake that we can use the fields, but we can cross our fingers and get information out now.

Games will be EVERY Sunday in June, with the last one being a potluck like last year

We have decided that softball will be open to everyone (grades 3 and older) and teams will be formed each Sunday.

This site also has a link to the sign-up genius we will use to make sure we have players AND certified volunteers.

We need at least 2 certified volunteers per field-with the number of parents we have that are certified, that should not be an issue. If there are parents that want to become certified, it's been taking less than a week to make that happen as long as they get the background check.

Welcome Charlotte! 2026 Summer Intern! Here's her introduction! Hello, my name is Charlotte Odden, and I am the new Barron County 4-H Summer Intern. I am from Barronett, WI and will be a sophomore at South Dakota State University in the fall. I am majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Business with the goal of becoming a ruminant animal nutritionist. I am an active member of 4-H and have been a part of it for thirteen years. Attending and showing at the Barron County Fair has always been a highlight of my summer. I participate in the fair by showing sheep, poultry, and a variety of projects and plants in the expo building. In addition, I have been a manager of the Junior Leaders Shake Stand for the past two years.

During this summer, I will be assisting with programming, behind the scenes paperwork, summer camp, and activities at the fair. Programs I am working on include: photography, a stuffed animal show for the fair, Cloverbud Camp, community collaborations at the Barron Library Ag Day and Boys & Girls Club in Rice Lake and Cumberland.

I am excited to be serving as the summer intern and am looking forward to meeting and working with volunteers and 4-Hers!
