Our Mission:
Working together with others to provide shelter, food, support services and
an avenue for self-sufficiency for the homeless and people in need.

Located in a former convent, Benjamin's House Emergency Shelter was founded by concerned members of the Rice Lake community who recognized the growing need for emergency housing.

A heartfelt thank you to our Sisters in Christ for making dinner possible tonight at Benjamin’s House Emergency Shelter!

Dinner has been served, the kitchen has been cleaned, and hearts have been filled. We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful group and their faithful commitment to serving once each month.

Their continued support, kindness, and dedication to providing monthly meals means so much to our guests and to all of us at Benjamin’s House. We are truly blessed by their servant hearts.

🎉🎂 It’s hard to believe we have already closed out the month of May! 🎂🎉

As we wrap up another month at Benjamin’s House, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate and give a HUGE thank you to Ashley Headley with State Farm Insurance and her phenomenal team for helping us make birthdays extra special all month long. 💙

Because of their kindness and generosity, we were able to celebrate our guests with balloons, cakes, napkins, tablecloths, decorations, and all the little touches that help make a birthday feel joyful and meaningful. 🎈🎁🎂

At Benjamin’s House, we believe birthdays matter. Celebrating someone’s special day reminds our families and residents that they are seen, valued, loved, and worth celebrating — even during difficult seasons of life.

We are so grateful to Ashley Headley and the entire State Farm team for caring so deeply about our guests and helping us create happy memories and moments of joy inside our home.

And to all of the guests who celebrated birthdays with us this month — thank you for allowing us to share in your special day. It is truly an honor to celebrate alongside you. 💙

As we continue to ensure we remain fully staffed to operate 24/7, we are looking to add a Program Assistant to our team.

This season brings many celebrations as we recognize our graduates and the exciting new journeys ahead of them. While we’re incredibly proud of their accomplishments, it also means we have an opportunity to welcome someone new to the team.

We’re excited to share that another family will soon be moving from Benjamin’s House into permanent housing! ❤️

After today’s move, we’ll be a bit short on items but have more storage space until their move-in date on May 9, so we’re reaching out to our amazing Friends of Benjamin’s House first to see if anyone is able to help.

If you’re not able to donate, that’s absolutely okay—we’ll also coordinate with our partners at St. Vincent de Paul. But since many of you have asked how to help, we wanted to give you the opportunity first.

This is a family of four with children in elementary and middle school, and they are in need of the following items:

Donation Needs (if available):
• Kitchen table and chairs
• Couch, end table, coffee table
• Nightstands
• Bathroom setup:
– Bath mat
– Bath towels
– Shower curtain, liner, and rings
• Toaster
• Starter/basic cookware set

If you have items to donate or questions about drop-off/pickup, please reach out. Your support truly makes a difference in helping families start their next chapter.
