The Compassion Closet has been a meaningful part of our community, serving individuals and families with care, dignity, and generosity. We are incredibly grateful for the many volunteers, donors, and partners who have supported this ministry over the years.
This is a season of change for Red Cedar Church’s Compassion Closet ministry. In light of this, Benjamin’s House will continue working closely with Red Cedar to ensure a thoughtful and smooth transition as the ministry concludes at the end of May.
We want to clearly share that this transition is not related to rent, financial concerns, or any increase in rent. Rather, it reflects a season of change and new beginnings.
As Benjamin’s House continues to grow, we are taking time to prioritize how our space and resources can best support our core mission—providing food, shelter, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
At the same time, we remain committed to meeting urgent needs. Benjamin’s House will be developing a clothing option designed to serve our clients and respond to immediate, emergency situations. We will also intentionally engage with partners who have utilized the Compassion Closet to help ensure those needs continue to be met through both our efforts and strong community collaboration.
This transition reflects a continued commitment to serving people well while strengthening how we work together as a community.
Thank you for your compassion, your support, and your continued commitment to those in need. If you would like to get involved or learn more about how to support this work, we would love to hear from you.
