As part of our public outreach, SAFER occasionally raffles off fire truck rides to schools at community events. Before the end of the school year, we had the privilege of escorting two groups to school. Everyone involved had a great time!

On Saturday, Green Shift conducted water rescue training near Bluegill Bay Park in Rib Mountain. Crews utilized the department’s new grant-funded water rescue training manikin to practice victim recovery techniques in the water.

Great work by all involved as they continue to sharpen their water rescue skills and prepare for emergency incidents. 🚒🌊🛟

SAFER crews took the opportunity to wish a very special happy birthday to retired Firefighter/EMT-I Eddie Schessow today.

Pictured from left to right are retired FF/AEMT Tom Weiland, retired Lt./Capt. Bartus, BC Genrich, retired FF/EMT-I Eddie Schessow, and Capt. Lohman. All of these members had the privilege of working with Eddie at both the Rib Mountain Fire Department and SAFER.

On May 22 SAFER’s John Hanson completed ProBoard Confined space training as a member of Wisconsin Task Force 1 team. Great work John!

We wrapped up a busy week with Pro Board Confined Space.

With hotter temperatures, NEVER leave kids or pets in a car!‼️

Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside can be deadly in minutes.

👉 Place something in the backseat, such as a phone or purse, to remind you a child or pet is in the car.
