****Water Movement Exercise****

Lastnight our dept trained with Newbold Fire Department on a water movement exercise. The exercise consisted of setting up an Engine setting up to draft and then pumping to a second Engine followed by pumping up to our Ladder Truck. This scenario trains our members to work closely on relay pumping and communication amongst all balancing intake pressure and discharge pressures. We were able to achieve flowing just over 1600 gallons of water per minute through our Ladder. We would also like to thank the owners of the Hodag Country Festival for allowing us to continue to train here. The water we pull from the pond gets pumped right back into it.

****Swimming Pool Filling****

We have started again with our yearly filling of residential Swimming pools. This is one of our yearly fundraisers to help offset our budget when it comes to buying equipment or tools for the dept.

If you are in need of getting your Pool filled please contact the Station @ 715-369-9277 and ask for Firefighter Nick or leave a message and he will be in touch with you to get you pricing and for scheduling. We try to stick with a 15 mile radius of our Station. This year our cut off date is July 1st so call now to get on the schedule

Money from this year's pool fills will be going towards the purchase of equipment for our Ladder Truck and a battery operated PPV fan for ventilation

****Heavy Rescue Training****

Yesterday area firefighters from around the county participated in a Extrication class hosted at our Fire Station. This class was put on by Instructors from Midwest Fire Tactics and Training. This class included a classroom session as well as hands-on training on multiple scenarios. We had multiple sets set up in our pit for the firefighters to train on. These types of trainings are very beneficial to us as we get to see and learn different techniques and methods while being in a controlled environment. This was an 8 hour class. We would like to thank all the Instructors, T&M Towing and Repair for supplying the vehicles and Dinges Fire Company for supplying the AMKUS Extrication tools for the class.

The Following Depts participated in this class

Pine Lake Fire Rescue
Pelican Fire & Rescue
Newbold Fire Department
Crescent Vol. Fire Dept.
Minocqua Fire & Rescue Department
Woodruff Fire Department
Cassian Volunteer Fire Department
Little Rice Fire Department

****State Hwy 17 Accident****

Firefighters were dispatched just before 4pm this afternoon for a reported two vehicle accident on State Hwy 17 North just south of Cross Country Rd. Traffic was slowed down to allow traffic only in the south bound lane until debris could be cleared and the vehicles be removed by the wrecker company. Both pickup trucks were traveling in the northbound lane when the second truck rear ended the first one. All parties involved in the accident declined being transported by ambulance.

Firefighters were on scene for approximately 45 minutes. Oneida County Sheriff's Dept and Ambulance also responded to this call.

Apparatus from Pine Lake included Engine 1, Rescue 1 and Truck 1
