e been honored as the Ohio Small Business of the Year. Our home office and factory is located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. We have branch operations in Ocala, Florida; Moweaqua, Illinois; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Michigan Center, Michigan; and White Oak, Pennsylvania. And as of October 2018 we have added an office in Randleman, North Carolina with the acquisition of another long time Breathing Air Compressor company...Safe Air Systems, Inc. Safe Air Systems has been in business for over 25 years and Bauer Distributors for NC, SC, VA and Washington, DC. As a BAUER Master Distributor, serving a 19 state area, we work daily with our network of regional dealers, most of whom have been in this field of expertise for many, many years themselves. In the spring of 2001, Breathing Air Systems expanded in include a 6000-square foot workshop. Probably the biggest impetus for the expansion project was the increase in demand for our work on mobile air systems. The new shop area is perfect for the need. Two large bay doors face Broad Street, plenty big enough for fire and rescue trucks to enter. Today, you might see in our building at any one time up to a half-dozen trucks and trailers getting air systems installed! We’ve got equipment in almost every state in the country, plus a dozen foreign countries. Our company’s sales philosophy is a firm desire to HELP the customer determine the most appropriate equipment that will best answer his need. We insist that everyone affiliated with our company share that philosophy. Here are some of our extras:

• Sales Staff. When you are talking with someone on our staff about purchasing a piece of equipment, you are also speaking with someone who knows that piece inside and out. The BAS sales staff are also technicians, who spend time in the field, every month, installing new equipment or servicing existing equipment. Each one of our technicians has attended the BAUER training school in Norfolk, VA.

• Service. We can and do service everything we sell. We offer a comprehensive Semi-Annual Maintenance Program and Breathing Air Quality Analysis programs, to which we currently have close to 4,800 subscribers with Safety Labs Plus. We have 24 full time technicians and a fleet of fully stocked service vans ready to respond to your call for help.

• Training. When we install and start up a new compressor, we also provide an on-site training for all personnel who will be operating and maintaining the equipment. We also award certificates for all who participate. This service is free.

• On-Site Start-Up. We do not consider a sale final until we have installed our equipment and started it up to make sure everything works the way it should. We pioneered this service, and are proud we did. Some of our competitors have attempted to copy this service, and we take that as a compliment to our company.

• Parts Center. Our stock of spare parts and materials is probably the largest in the country. Customers can phone in their requests to our toll free number and their orders are given highest priority.

• Dependability. We have established an unequaled reputation in our field for honesty, dependability, and integrity. No one can provide better equipment, give better or more complete service, or has more knowledge about making and storing high pressure breathing air than we do. For over 50+ years we have provided both Fire Service, Military Service, SCUBA divers and Paintball enthusiast with the best in equipment sales and service, and we plan on being around for a long, long time to come! This year’s Halloween Costume Contest & Chili Cookoff was one for the books 🔥🎃

We had:
👻 Michael Myers calmly stirring a pot of chili like it was part of his next horror movie.
👻 Two scary clowns who somehow made everyone more nervous around the food table than the chili itself.
👻 An elf who said their chili was made with ingredients “straight from the forest” which explains absolutely nothing.
👻 And a hippie who insisted their chili was “free-range, peace-infused, and totally cosmic man.”

Between the costumes, the chili fumes, and the suspiciously evil laughter from the team, it’s safe to say everyone left both full and questionably satisfied.

Results: 10/10 for spooky flavor and fun — zero regrets. Mostly. 🎃🔥

Congratulations to Scott Kole on 5 years of service with Breathing Air Systems!

Scott is a pet lover, specifically his cats. Scott is also very creative and he and his wife build custom furniture and dog feeders.

Scott started with Breathing Air Systems as a Service Technician and moved into the Air Testing Role before settling into his current position as our Supply Chain Coordinator.

Scott is always there to help out someone in need. We appreciate his service and his willingness to help his coworkers and customers.

Thank you, Scott! We are looking forward to many more years together!

We are sending out a big Congratulations to Keith on his 25 years of service with Breathing Air Systems.

Keith was an apron wearing produce manager with little to no mechanical experience when he started at BAS. His great attitude earned him recognition of being one of our top Service Technicians before moving into the Service Manager position. That great attitude has followed him all these years into his current position in Sales. He has an unwavering dedication to our customers and the company. Keith is an amatuer chef and recently built an outdoor kitchen at this home. We are looking forward to many more years!

Along with being awarded the contract for the North Carolina Sherriff’s Association Procurement Program, Safe Air Systems has also been awarded the contract for the VSA First Responder Supplies and Equipment Procurement Program.

The goal of the VSA’s First Responder Supplies and Equipment Procurement Program is to establish cooperative contracts for use by public bodies in the Commonwealth that achieve competitive pricing on equipment that county and city government agencies purchase, including but not limited to Fire/EMS/Law Enforcement Specialty Vehicles and First Responder Supplies and Equipment. The Association’s program helps to eliminate duplication of effort through the creation of one statewide contract that can be used by all public bodies throughout the United States. The Virginia Sherriff’s Association role is to act as an advocate for your agency during the purchasing process and to provide Virginia with a program that delivers great financial savings along with quality customer service, while using a system that is easy to navigate.
