Unfortunately, this bill is little more than window dressing, capitalizing on the popularity of Elon’s DOGE efforts. But make no mistake, this isn’t DOGE. It’s just legislators meeting during the interim to review budgets and make recommendations that the legislature rarely acts on. It’s a hamster wheel, spinning without real results.
The Idaho House of Representatives voted for H364, which would create a type of DOGE in Idaho. H364 Adds to existing law to establish the Department of Governmental Efficiency Task Force made up of 9 members of the legislature. 3 are from the House, 3 are from the Senate, and 3 are from the JFAC committee.
The taskforce may appoint up to two non-legislators to the committee.
