Hydrant flushing begins Tuesday night and will occur on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 9 P.M. to 2 A.M.

Flushing is a necessary practice to clean sediment from water mains and ensure system operations. Hydrants are also inspected throughout this process.

If you experience dirty water, please let cold water run. Dial 3-1-1 if further assistance is needed.

The Revere Traffic Commission met on May 21st to review a series of proposed parking and traffic safety updates across the city. Several items were approved, while others were moved to future public hearings to gather additional resident feedback.

✅ 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
• Addition of a handicap parking space at 54 Carlson Ave
• New stop signs approved at Walnut Place & Sumner Street and Overlook Ave & Campbell Ave
• “No Parking Anytime” restriction approved on the easterly side of Revere Street from Bellevue Ave to North Shore Rd, with a 90‑day trial amendment
• Genessee Street approved as one‑way northbound from Mountain Ave
• Furness Street approved as one‑way southbound from Park Ave

📋 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴
Requests involving parking changes on Ensign Street, stop signs on Centennial Avenue and Shirley Avenue, and resident sticker parking proposals for Prospect Ave and Reservoir Ave will be reviewed at upcoming public hearings to ensure full community input.

🚨UTILITY WORK AHEAD 🚨

The Broadway Water Replacement Project is expected to begin the week of May 18.

New 12-inch water main, services, hydrants and gate valves will be installed on Broadway from Ambrose Street to Ward Street, a significant upgrade that will replace an older 8-inch pipe.

The project will begin with the installation of temporary water services and residents will not be charged for water during this time. There will be short-term interruptions to the water service during installation of the bypass and we ask for your patience during this period. The bypass will allow the project to be completed without long-term water interruptions.

🔵 Daytime work hours are 7 AM to 5 PM

🔵 Nighttime work hours are 9 PM to 5 AM

🔵 This area will be an active construction zone so please drive with caution

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announces temporary overnight lane closures on Route 1A (Lee Burbank Highway) between the East Boston City Line and Route 60 (Bell Circle).

Mayor Patrick Keefe Jr. congratulates our very own Elaine Selvitella, who is retiring from the City of Revere after over 4 decades. She has worked for the Mayor’s Office under Mayors Colella, Haas and Ambrosino and for the last 15 years at the Water and Sewer Department. We will miss her dearly but wish her a happy retirement!

The Revere Department of Public Works has been notified by MassDOT that their contractor will be making temporary repairs to several deteriorated sidewalk panels on State Road today, 4/24/26.

➡️ The damaged panels will be removed and temporarily replaced with asphalt to address current tripping hazards.

➡️ A permanent concrete replacement will be completed at a later date.

This temporary work will help improve pedestrian safety in the meantime. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these repairs are made.

⚠️ Planned Power Outage Notice (on behalf of National Grid) ⚡

The Revere Department of Public Works is sharing the following information from National Grid regarding a rescheduled planned power outage needed for electrical system improvements.

🗓 Tuesday, May 12
⏰ 10:00 PM – approximately 4:00 AM (up to 6 hours)

📍 Affected locations in Revere:
• 63, 85, 90 American Legion Highway
• 224, 230, 236, 240 Harris Street
• 5 Whitmore Road

🔁 Weather contingency: If there is inclement or extreme weather, the outage will be moved to Wednesday, May 13, during the same overnight hours.
