We have decided to speak out regarding the Facebook account known as “Revere Scanner (RS).” This account has consistently spread misinformation, often publishing stories that lack factual accuracy and, at times, appear to be completely fabricated—particularly when it comes to the members of Revere Firefighters Local 926.

If the goal is to share accurate information, the appropriate step would be to contact leadership directly, such as the Fire Chief or the Union President. Instead, assumptions are made and narratives are created without any effort to verify the facts.

When we have attempted to correct these inaccuracies, we have been blocked from their platform rather than engaged in a productive or honest dialogue.

The members of Revere Firefighters Local 926 remain open and willing to meet and discuss any concerns or questions. All that is required is a willingness to seek out the correct information from the proper sources.

President Kevin O’Hara

Quote from President Captain Kevin O’Hara:

“Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are coming. Due to current legislation and regulatory frameworks, they cannot simply be stopped. The focus now must shift to preparedness. These facilities bring inherent risks, and it is critical that the companies developing them take responsibility for ensuring public safety. That means providing emergency responders with the necessary resources—adequate staffing, specialized equipment, comprehensive training, and ongoing support. It’s about time firefighters start receiving what they need on the front end, instead of constantly playing catch-up after the fact. We appreciate that Flatiron is working with us to help ensure these needs are met and that safety remains the priority. If these systems are going to be part of our communities, then preparedness cannot be optional, it must be built into the process from the start.”

Tonight at Revere City Hall, Kevin O’Hara, President of Local 926 Revere Firefighters, will join Chief James Cullen at a City Council meeting for an informational hearing regarding the BESS site in North Revere.

Chief Cullen and Captain O’Hara will address and respond to questions from City Councilors, while clarifying concerns and correcting any misinformation.

Please tune in if you have questions or would like more information.

Just a few hours after we proudly held the Grand Re-Opening of a fire station that had been closed since 1991 due to budget cuts, our Brothers and Sisters of Local 1314 in Fall River shared their congratulations—while also rightfully advocating for a new station and increased manpower in their own city.

Tragically, just hours later, Fall River was struck by devastating loss. Lives were taken, and many will carry the emotional and mental toll of this tragedy for a long time to come.

Please keep the lives lost in your prayers, and hold close in your thoughts the families, the community, and the brave firefighters of Fall River during this incredibly difficult time.

To our Union families, Brothers, and Sisters,

We are looking to purchase an inflatable “Scabby the Rat” approximately 4 to 6 feet tall, so it’s portable and easy to carry when needed. We’ve searched on Amazon but haven’t had any luck.

If anyone has suggestions or knows of other options, please reach out!

Thank you!
