Here’s an update on the Taylor Ridge fire. Still burning but sounds like it’s pretty well confined by the burn scars of previous fires.

Update for the Taylor Ridge Fire

The Taylor Ridge Fire is burning in Northeast Ferry County and is approximately 23 acres in size. This fire is surrounded by the 2021 Bulldog and Mack fires as well as the 2015 Stickpin fire scars. The fire had minimal growth during the reg flag warning on 9/7/22. The fire is surround by Bulldog, Mack and Stick Pin fire containment treatments that require little to no additional preparation. Fire activity is a predominantly backing ground fire burning in the understory and ground fuels causing very little damage to the dominant stand. Fire growth, potential and time of year, is allowing for reducing firefighter exposure and will continue to be assessed for suppression opportunities. Currently there is an Incident Commander with appropriate ground resources. This fire started on 8/29 and is approximately 4 miles north of the Alligator Fire.

Aircraft seen in the area on 9/7 and today 9/8 are supporting the Alligator fire.

Pictured is a smoke plume from the Taylor Ridge Fire.
