Please join us on Friday, March 28th for our Spring Open House to learn more about CAP and Renton Composite Squadron. Although this open house is primarily for new cadets, we are always looking for senior members to volunteer and help with our squadron operations. On Monday, September 16, Renton Composite Squadron hosted an open house for over sixty people, including both parents and prospective cadets. We discussed Civil Air Patrol’s many leadership and aerospace programs, including our famous Encampment. After a short break, the parents participated in a Q&A session while their cadets engaged in a thrilling icebreaker and were introduced to drill. To end the evening, we demonstrated our closing formation to the parents.

On Monday August 12, 2024, the Renton Composite Squadron had the honor of being visited by Washington Wing Commander Col. Brett Dolnick during their promotion ceremony. Three new officers were awarded the prestigious Billy Mitchell Award. Following the ceremony, cadets participated in lessons on the benefits of the Air Force Academy and college ROTC programs. They also enjoyed an engaging character development lesson on community service.

The cadets learned about food preparation in the DFAC, working on cadet staff, and some even had an opportunity to receive glider orientation rides. Last night our squadron hosted an event at iFly in Tukwila where the cadets and senior members had an opportunity to take two "flights" inside a wind tunnel. The cadets also participated in STEM activities and enjoyed some pizza. We had participants join us from Southwest Group Washington Wing, Green River Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, and Lewis County Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol.
