It was a great day for our DeMotte community! Mayor Phillips joined local residents and the Jasper County Historical Society for the placement of the Charles Halleck historical marker on Halleck Street.

It’s always special to take a moment to remember the people and stories that helped shape our communities. Thank you to the Jasper County Historical Society for keeping our local history alive and giving our community another piece of its story to celebrate!

Residents in the affected area between 3455 W. Clark St. and 9439 IN-114 may now return to their normal water use.

Good news, Rensselaer! The Boil Water Advisory has officially been lifted. 💧

Residents in the affected area may now return to their normal water use.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while our Water Department worked to resolve the issue. We appreciate your cooperation! 💙

🚨💧 ATTENTION RENSSELAER – BOIL WATER ADVISORY 💧🚨

The City of Rensselaer Water Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory for customers located between 3455 W. Clark St. and 9439 IN-114.

This advisory is due to a fire hydrant being damaged by a tractor, causing a loss of pressure in the water main. Crews are currently working on repairs, and customers in the affected area have been notified.

💧 If you are in the affected area:
• Please use bottled water for drinking and cooking, OR boil tap water for at least 3 minutes before use.
• Tap water may still be used for washing and bathing.
• The advisory is expected to remain in effect for the next 48 hours.

The City of Rensselaer Gas Department is opening the doors and inviting our community to come out for a fun evening of safety, food, refreshments, and good hometown conversation! ❤️

Join us for our Pipeline Safety Public Awareness Open House and learn a little more about pipeline safety, what our Gas Department does, and the people who work hard every day to serve our community.

🚗Most Streets Are Back Open as Storm Recovery Continues😃

As the day has progressed, most City streets are back open and accessible. However, please continue to avoid Milroy Street as our Line Department is still hard at work repairing downed lines in that area.

We want to thank the Rensselaer community for your continued patience, kindness, and understanding as we work together through the damage caused by the storm. Our crews are working hard to get everything restored as safely and quickly as possible.

Some people leave footprints wherever they go, and Bill and Diane Jennings have left them all across our community.

The City of Rensselaer is proud to honor Bill and Diane with a special proclamation presented by Mayor Jeffrey S. Phillips, recognizing a lifetime of love, family, and service.

The Jennings family reminds us that a true legacy isn't measured by titles or accomplishments alone, but by the lives we touch, the kindness we share, and the example we leave behind.
