The St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs Association Firefighter of the Year Dinner to honor Rick Wood, Colton Fire Department, is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Pierrepont Fire Hall. Tickets are $30 each for a prime rib dinner. Tickets will be available for sale tonight at the SLCFCA meeting in Lawrenceville. We are looking for Fire Departments in St. Lawrence County to host SLCFCA Meetings! May meeting is at Lawrenceville Fire Department; July meeting is at Brier Hill Fire Department. We are looking for locations for the September and November meetings this year and the January, March, and May meetings next year. Meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of the month.

Youth in the Fire Service is scheduled for August 22 from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

We are looking for individuals to teach rotations. You don’t have to be a state fire instructor to teach a rotation. We are looking for individuals in fire and those that interact with the fire service: Police, Sheriff, DEC, EMS. Please follow the QR code or this link (https://forms.gle/3suvA1eh6bofxbwR9)

Last night at the SLCFCA Meeting in Heuvelton, we announced who the 2025 SLCFCA Firefighter of the Year is.
Richard Wood, Colton Fire Department
His son,Trevor Wood, was there to receive the nomination as Richard was unable to be there.
There will be a dinner on June 20th to celebrate this honor. Tickets will be available at the March meeting in Morristown. Tickets will be $25 per person.
