Were you affected by the Bug, Fred, Stallion or Hawk fires?

The City of Reno’s Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department, in partnership with the State of Nevada and regional partners, is launching the AB540 Disaster Relief Program to provide up to $1 million in emergency housing assistance to households impacted by the Bug, Fred, Stallion and Hawk fires.

The program will provide flexible assistance for housing-related needs and financial hardships resulting from the wildfires. Assistance is available for impacted residents throughout Reno, Sparks and unincorporated Washoe County.

Assistance may help cover temporary hotel or motel stays, rent following lost income or unexpected expenses, and certain wildfire-related losses.

Applications are open now and will remain available while funding lasts.

Raise the Roof is just 2 weeks away!

Join us for Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada’s 7th Annual Raise the Roof to Ease Poverty on Saturday, September 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at our new St. Vincent’s Food Pantry, located at 435 Eureka Avenue in Reno.

KBUL Country 98.1's Kbul Jj Christy will be high in the sky until we reach our $150,000 fundraising goal in support of local poverty assistance programs.
Come enjoy a Hawaiian-themed luncheon, take a tour of our new food pantry, see firsthand how your support helps our neighbors, and enjoy family-friendly fun, including a fashion show and raffle.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Labor Day Holiday Hours:

As we approach Labor Day weekend, please note that Catholic Charities will be observing the holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026.

We will be OPEN to serve you at:
St. Vincent’s Thrift Stores & Donation Centers: Regular hours.
St. Vincent’s Dining Room: Serving lunch as usual from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM.

Please Note:
All other Catholic Charities programs will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th.

This past weekend was a shining example of what can be achieved when we come together! We were able to provide dinner, snacks and drinks to the North Valleys Resource Center but needed help with transportation. A huge thanks to the The Salvation Army of Washoe County for delivering hot meals from the St. Vincent's Dining Room on Friday and Saturday, and to the American Red Cross of Nevada for bringing snacks and drinks from the St. Vincent's Food Pantry.

We're forever grateful to Chef Kim for cooking up love and to Q for loading up the goods.

Raise the Roof is back!

On Saturday, September 19, KBUL 981 on-air personality and longtime Catholic Charities supporter KBUL JJ CHRISTY will perch high above our food pantry—and he won’t come down until we raise $150,000 to help neighbors in need!

Join us from 11:30am–1:30pm for lunch, a tour of our newest St. Vincent's Food Pantry, a fashion show, raffle prizes, and plenty of cheering for JJ.

Adult lunch tickets are only $20 and kids 12 and under are only $10! The link to purchase tickets is in the first comment.
