REGIONAL NARCOTICS UNIT ARRESTS SUN VALLEY MAN FOLLOWING DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION
APPROXIMATELY SIX POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE, HE**IN, AND CO***NE SEIZED DURING TRAFFIC STOP AND RESIDENCE SEARCH

RENO, NV — The Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) announced today the arrest of Sun Valley resident Jose Silverio, age 31, following a multi-month investigation into drug trafficking activity in the area of El Rancho Drive and Sun Valley Boulevard.

On August 27, 2026, detectives coordinated with Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 deputies to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with the investigation. During the stop, detectives recovered approximately four pounds of methamphetamine and 56.89 grams of he**in from inside the vehicle. Silverio, who was the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Following his arrest, detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for Silverio’s residence. The subsequent search yielded an additional two pounds of methamphetamine and 16.21 grams of co***ne, bringing the total quantity of narcotics seized to approximately six pounds of methamphetamine, 56.89 grams of he**in, and 16.21 grams of co***ne.

Silverio was transported and booked into the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Trafficking of a Controlled Substance
• Transport of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (2 counts)

The Regional Narcotics Unit is a multi-agency task force comprised of detectives from the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Sparks Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Two Arrests Made Following Overnight Crime Spree Involving Stolen Vehicles, Burglaries, and Commercial Break-In:

The Reno Police Department has arrested two individuals following an overnight series of crimes involving stolen vehicles, vehicle burglaries, a hit-and-run crash, and commercial burglaries across the Reno area.

The investigation began the night of August 31, 2026, as officers responded to multiple incidents involving damaged and stolen vehicles. In the early morning hours of September 1, officers responded to a business on E. Plumb Lane after a stolen vehicle was allegedly used to break into the building.

Shortly afterward, officers responded to JCPenney at Meadowood Mall for an interior motion alarm. Officers discovered the business had been burglarized and encountered two suspects who fled in a stolen vehicle. Another stolen vehicle containing property believed to be connected to the burglary was also recovered.

Through surveillance footage, investigative work, and coordination among multiple RPD units, officers identified two individuals believed to be connected to the overnight crime spree.

Later that morning, Jaydan Lewellin, 19, was taken into custody. A 17-year-old male juvenile fled from officers but was quickly located and detained.

Investigators recovered stolen property, money, tools, clothing, and multiple stolen vehicles believed to be connected to the crimes.

RPD recognizes the teamwork of Patrol officers from the Graveyard and Days shifts, Property Crimes Detectives, the Crime Gun Intelligence Center, Regional Gang Unit, and Forensic Investigation Team. RPD also thanks the Nevada Youth Parole Bureau, University of Nevada Police Services Northern Command, Washoe County School District Police Department, and other assisting law enforcement agencies for their partnership.

• 17-year-old male juvenile

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as detectives continue reviewing the evidence.

REGIONAL NARCOTICS UNIT AND NORTHERN NEVADA DRUG TASK FORCE ARREST RENO MAN FOLLOWING FENTANYL INVESTIGATION

SEIZED FENTANYL EQUIVALENT TO NEARLY 103,000 LETHAL DOSES, VALUED AT MORE THAN $30,000

The Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) and the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF), with the assistance of Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Reno Police Department K9 Units, announced today the arrest of Reno resident, 28-year-old Damion Thompson, following the successful conclusion of a month-long undercover investigation into fentanyl distribution activity in the Reno and Sparks metropolitan area.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives observed Thompson conducting numerous hand-to-hand narcotics transactions in the area of Neil Road and Moana Lane in Reno, Nevada.

Upon taking Thompson into custody, detectives located 205.70 grams gross weight of fentanyl on his person. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the quantity of fentanyl seized carries a street value in excess of $30,000 and is the equivalent of nearly 103,000 lethal doses.

Additionally, detectives recovered a loaded firearm in Thompson’s possession at the time of his arrest.

Thompson was transported and booked into the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Trafficking of a Controlled Substance

• Possession of a Controlled Substance

• Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell

• Carrying a Concealed Weapon without a Permit

A special request from a Summerset Memory Care resident recently brought Reno Reno Police Department facility dog Winter VIII and handler Lt. Michael Browett, along with, Fire Department facility dog Lambeau and handler Captain Kaite Nelson, out for a visit with the community.

Residents learned about the important roles facility dogs serve within their respective agencies, how they are trained, and the many ways they support people during difficult moments. After the presentation, Lambeau and Winter spent time meeting residents individually while their handlers answered questions and listened to plenty of wonderful stories.

The smiles said it all. We were grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to spend time with such a welcoming group of residents. It was clear that Lambeau and Winter helped make the day a little brighter and we enjoyed the visit just as much as they did. 🐾

The Regional Narcotics Unit and Northern Nevada Drug Task Force Arrest Reno Man on Multiple Drug Charges:

Reno, Nev. (August 27, 2026) — The Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) and the Northern Nevada Drug Task Force (NNDTF), with the assistance of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, announced today the arrest of Reno resident, 27-year-old Kamaryn Hart, following the conclusion of a multi-month undercover investigation into fentanyl distribution activity in the Reno area.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives coordinated multiple controlled narcotics purchases directly from Hart, resulting in the acquisition of more than 15 grams of fentanyl. At the time of his arrest, Hart was out on bail for separate drug and firearm charges stemming from a prior arrest on June 29, 2026.

Following Hart’s arrest, detectives applied for and executed a search warrant at his residence in the area of South Virginia Street and Delucchi Lane in Reno. The search of the residence yielded the following:

• 32 fraudulent Oxycodone pills (fentanyl-based)

• One G***k handgun

• $31,792 in U.S. currency

Of particular concern to investigators, a quantity of the illegal narcotics was discovered inside the bedroom of a five-year-old child residing in the home.

Hart was transported and booked into the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance (3 counts)

• Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell (3 counts)

• Sale of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

• Convicted Person in Possession of a Firearm

• Child Abuse/Neglect
