A heartfelt thank you to Sierra Homebuyers for their incredibly generous donation of a large collection of new essential household items for the survivors we serve. Contributions, including pillows, pots and pans, snacks, towels, and other everyday necessities, help provide comfort and support during times of transition.

Gifts like these make a meaningful difference by helping create welcoming spaces and ensuring individuals have access to items many of us rely on each day. We are truly grateful for your kindness and for showing such thoughtful care for members of our community. 💜

Our team recently spent time together at a candle-making workshop, enjoying a creative afternoon to connect, recharge, and reflect. Opportunities like this allow staff to step away from their daily responsibilities, strengthen relationships, and return feeling refreshed and inspired.

The work of supporting survivors requires compassion, focus, and resilience, and taking time to care for our team helps sustain the thoughtful, client-centered approach that is at the heart of everything we do.

We are grateful for moments that allow us to build connection, creativity, and a little calm along the way. ✨

This Mother’s Day, survivors in our program were reminded that their strength, resilience, and wellbeing matter. 💜

A heartfelt thank you to the local Mary Kay consultants who thoughtfully assembled and donated Mother’s Day bags filled with self-care items for the women we serve. These simple acts of kindness brought comfort, encouragement, and a little extra care to survivors and mothers in our community.

Thank you for helping our clients feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

We are honored to share that the Domestic Violence Resource Center has received a national recognition, the 2026 Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding Local Organization 💜

We are one of only three organizations across the country to receive this award in our category!

The Purple Ribbon Awards were created by DomesticShelters.org, Alliance for HOPE, and leaders in the domestic violence movement to celebrate the incredible “hopegivers” working every day to support survivors. These advocates, programs, shelters, volunteers, and community partners make healing and safety possible.

This award belongs to our entire community...our dedicated staff, volunteers, partners, and the courageous survivors we have the privilege to serve. Thank you for being part of this work and for helping us continue to build safer, healthier futures.

It’s hard to believe it’s almost been one year since DVRC transitioned into our temporary facility at 1301 Cordone Ave., Ste. 180.

This space has allowed us to continue providing advocacy, counseling, and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children in our community. Our services remain available 24/7 for anyone in need of safety planning or support.

While this location is temporary, our work continues every day as we move closer to opening our new shelter and resource center.

Thank you to our community for standing with survivors. 💜

💜 GO PURPLE for National Crime Victims’ Rights Week 💜

April 19–25, we stand with survivors and honor the strength it takes to seek safety, healing, and justice. Wearing purple helps raise awareness and reminds survivors they are not alone. While this week brings special focus, supporting survivors is something we remain committed to every day, all year long.

At the Domestic Violence Resource Center, we provide advocacy, counseling, emergency shelter, and resources that help survivors and their children find support, regain confidence, and pursue new possibilities.

Join us in showing support for victims of crime and helping create a community grounded in dignity, respect, and compassion.
