We’re eating for Rennerdale’s brave VFD,
So consuming twelve rolls is an act of decree.

Think of the butter! That cinnamon spread!
It’s basically "charity" to be overfed.
Every rib that you tackle and peanut you crack,
Helps our local heroes get some funds back.

They handle the flames and the smoke and the heat,
The least you can do is sit down and eat.
So come grab a table and join in the fun,
It’s the tastiest "work" you have ever done!

Our team here at Rennerdale VFD would like to thank all of this year's patrons from our annual fish fry! You all have helped us smash our yearly goals and make 5,000 meals sold! We look forward to seeing you all next year and look out for more RVFD fundraising events throughout the year!

This is it, Pittsburgh! Our final fish fry of the season is here, and we have a massive goal in sight. We’re aiming to cross the 5,000-meal mark, and we need your appetite to get us there.

One last time, the fryers are set,
For the best Atlantic cod you've had yet!
The duck pond is safe, the mallards can stay,
As we ship in the fresh stuff from far, far away.

But if you’re in a rush and you’re passing through,

The calendar is turning and the weeks are winding down,
It’s the second to last Friday for the best fish in town!
Week 6 is upon us, and the kitchen’s in gear,
To bring you the flavors you crave every year.

Don't look at the Duck Pond with a hungry eye,
Those feathered locals are just swimming by.
Our catch is still coming from the Atlantic blue,
Fried crisp or baked flaky, especially for you!

For fifteen dollars, it’s a heck of a deal,
A hearty, community-style, firehouse meal.
But remember the warning from the Fridays before:
When the fish is all gone, we have to close the door!

So head to Station 126 and join in the line,
We’ll be serving from three-thirty ‘til half-past nine—
Wait, make that seven-thirty! Don't be late for the fun,

It’s Friday in Rennerdale, the sirens are still,
But the kitchen is buzzing with a savory thrill.
It’s Week 3 of the fry, and the batter is set
For the crispest, gold dinner that you’ve ever met.

Now, some of you asked as you walked past the shore,
If the ducks in the pond would be seen anymore.
Rest easy, dear neighbors, let the mallards be—
This fish is quite fresh from the Atlantic Sea!

No locals were harmed for your sandwich or plate,
We fly in the finest to ensure it tastes great.
But a word to the wise: don’t linger too long,
Or you’ll find that you’re singing a "sold out" song.

Last week we went fast, every piece, every fry,
Before the first stars had even hit the sky.
So come to the station, support the VFD,
And leave the pond swimming in total safety!

Pro-Tip: Given how fast we sold out last week, we recommend arriving early to make sure you get your fill!

***Public Service Announcement***

Phase 2: Muck Removal and Excavation

We have officially begun our second phase of our pond rehabilitation project here at the fire department, we are accomplishing this with grant funds secured from the Community and Economic Assistance Program! Once this phase is complete our team of volunteers at Rennerdale VFD will be completing improved picnic areas for public use and working with local eagle scouts to secure new benches!

This phase is projected to take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple months weather dependent. During this time our pond will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Our team has begun blocking the pond and draining the water so we can begin drying the sediment for removal. Our remaining fish have been caught and relocated to wildlife streams as our next phase includes stocking our beautiful pond with new native wildlife and aquatic plants to create a self sustainable ecosystem!

Please bear with us during this renovation as we know you folks love to fish and spend the warm days down here but this is a vital project to recover the full health of our pond for current and future generations! As always we will keep you all updated as we continue this massive rehabilitation project for our community to enjoy!
