Honoring freedom. Honoring history. Honoring the unfinished work.

Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom delayed is freedom denied, and that progress only happens when people are willing to fight for it.

As we reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who came before us, we also recommit ourselves to building a South Carolina where opportunity, dignity, and justice are within reach for every family.

Today we honor the legacy of those who refused to give up on freedom. Tomorrow, we continue the work.

Happy Juneteenth.
