Good Morning Everyone. Per our local Meteorologist - Our area has a enhanced probability of severe weather later this afternoon (Thursday - January 12, 2023) into this evening. We can potentially expect high winds and heavy rain during this time later today. Please remain safe and attempt to secure any items that may have a tendency to blow around during these types of weather events.

We remain diligent monitoring Tropical Storm Ian’s track (local weather forecasts) as the storm enters South Carolina and tracks in a Northwest direction in the coming hours.

We also continue to monitor any updates issued by our Spartanburg County Emergency Management Officials (Doug Bryson) and will share that information with everyone as it relates to our immediate area and becomes available.

Over the past few hours (Thursday) some residents across the County have experienced a brief loss of power. As this storm continues to move across South Carolina towards the general SC Upstate area and points north, we will feel those sudden stronger wind gusts and rain fall (per our local Meteorologist statements/weather forecast).

Please consider securing any items outside that could potentially be impacted by the wind and possibly cause damage / injury.

The Town of Reidville, SC is preparing for Ye Ole Reidville Day on Saturday May 21, 2022 from 11am-4pm. We look forward to having a variety of food trucks, craft vendors, EMS equipment displays, music, face painting and more. The Town of Reidville is in the process of designing an official marketing logo for this event. Should anyone be interested in either setting up a vendor booth or simply volunteering for this event, please send an email to Christy: [email protected] or call the Town of Reidville Office. Vendor spaces are filling up fast along Main Street Reidville. Reserve your vendor location spot today! There will be no rain out date for this event. All vendors will need to supply any and all display material within their assigned booth/spot location along Main Street related to this event.

Good Morning Everyone. Please see the special weather bulletin sent out by Spartanburg County Emergency Management Director - Doug Bryson regarding potentially strong storms in our area Wednesday into Thursday 3/23-3/24/2022. Please be prepared and stay safe.

NWS at GSP is predicting severe weather all day tomorrow and into Thursday morning for the entire Upstate of SC and western NC. Greatest impacts to be expected at this time are damaging winds, which could be in excess of 50mph during thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain. Please monitor trusted weather sources for the latest conditions in your area.

Monday Evening March 14th, 2022 was a very special Reidville, SC Town Council Meeting. James Richard was formally sworn in as the Town Council Ward 4 Councilman. Councilman Richard will now serve as the Finance Chair for the Town of Reidville, SC.

Town Council passed a Special Resolution recognizing Vickie Pittman as the former Councilwoman for Ward 4, and the years of service she provided for the Town of Reidville, SC as finance chair from 2011-2021.

Rebecca Youngblood and Kevin Silvey were also sworn into The Town of Reidville, SC planning commission.

The Town of Reidville, SC would also like to Thank Barry Duckworth concerning his willingness to participate in the recent Town of Reidville, SC special election held on March 8th, 2022.

This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week in South Carolina. We strongly encourage all Spartanburg County residents and businesses to register for severe weather alerts and emergency notifications.
