As summer camp comes to a close, we want to take a moment to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to our junior counselors. Your energy, patience, and leadership made a huge difference! Not just to the staff, but especially to the younger campers who looked up to you every day.

We’re so proud of how you stepped up as role models, and we can’t wait to see all the great things you'll continue to do. Camp would not be possible without you all!

While we were sad to end an amazing week of camp, we had an awesome last day!

🎣We spent the day doing one of our favorite activities: fishing! We had quite a few fishermen in our group! Everyone had a great time and made some impressive catches!

🍔Our pit stop at Pete’s for lunch was the perfect opportunity to cool off!

🍦We finished off the day by making some homemade ice cream. It was a hit!

We had the most amazing week! All the campers learned a lot and loved getting out to experience nature. We’re already counting down the days until Conservation Camp 2026!

Day three made a splash!

🚣We spent the morning kayaking on Lake Brandt. We got lots of exercise and soaked each other in the process!

🐔Lunch at Chick-fil-a is a tradition every year, and we were all looking forward to it! It did not disappoint.

🛝After lunch we swung by Country Park to enjoy the shade and relax!

🍨We finished off our awesome day by grabbing some milkshakes at our favorite spot, Cookout!

We can’t wait to end camp with a bang tomorrow with fishing and homemade ice cream!

We had a ball at day 2 of camp! The day was full of exploration, and boy, was it a hot one!

🐑We kicked things off with the team at Upper Piedmont Research Station. We went on a tour of the research station and saw all the research happening! We visited sheep and cows, learned about the rich history of the station, looked at some corn, and got to see some cool devices used in data collection. Our campers learned a lot!

🌮Next, we stopped at Monterrey to refuel!

⛰️After lunch, we walked the Chinqua-Penn Trail and enjoyed being in nature. We stopped at the creek and turned over some rocks! We got to see crawdads and lots of different kinds of insect larva.

🍨We made a visit to Mayberry to cool down after being in the hot sun all day!

We had a great day and can’t wait to do some kayaking tomorrow!

We had an awesome first day of Conservation Camp 2025! Our day was packed with fun and learning!

🌲Ranger Reynolds of Mayo River State Park led us on a hike through the park, educating us about types of trees, rock formations, water quality and the park’s rich history. He also shared with us the excitement of his career as a park ranger and inspired some of our campers!

🍕All that hiking worked up an appetite, so we stopped at Star Pizza to grab some lunch and cool off!

🍧Finally, we ended our day by grabbing slushees and enjoying some time at the park!

We had a blast on our first day and can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store for us!
