Welcome to the newly created Friends of St. Patrick face book page. Just wanted to invite everyone to enjoy and take part on this page with us.
Just want to share some history about St. Patrick’s and the Friends of St.Patrick organization.

In the early to Mid 1800 the immigrants from many of Irelands counties began to settle here in the Maple Grove area. It was strong faith and fortitude of the pioneers that started St. Patrick’s Irish legacy right here in the Grove.

Between 1858~1868 St. Patrick Church was frame and constructed in where part of the cemetery lies. The final brick church was constructed on the present site in Maple Grove. First mass was offered in 1870 on December 25 th.
In 1871 the second framed churched was moved and remodeled in the St. Patrick’s Catholic School.

In 1992 the descendants of the first settlers formed the Friends of St. Patrick’s, Inc and eventually purchased the convent,St.Patrick’s church and established a memorial tree park.

In 2000 the last regular mass was offered on September 24th.

In 2002 a Final mass was offered on St. Patrick’s day March 17, to officially close Maple Grove’s St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

1868-2018 commemorates 150 years of St. Patrick’s church.
