Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is deeply appreciative of Sabrina DeRue’s dedication and commitment to 4-H Camp Wabasso as the Camp Director for several years! Under her leadership Sabrina brought ACA accreditation to camp – the highest national camping accreditation. These standards have brought 4-H Camp Wabasso to new heights. Alongside accreditation, Sabrina strengthened programming, professional development for camp staff, and significantly helped with raising funds for scholarships and other camp related purposes. We will miss her and we wish her the very best!

Q: Is my child ready for overnight camp?
A: Every child is different, but many are more ready than you might think!

If your child is excited to try new things, can follow basic routines, and is open to being a little independent, they’re likely ready for overnight camp. Our staff are trained to support first-time campers, help them make friends, and ease the transition into camp life.

We also offer shorter options, like Cloverbud Camps and Mini-Stays, which can be a great way to build confidence before a full week stay!

Our goal is to help every camper feel comfortable, supported, and ready to thrive at camp!

By popular demand, Day Camps at 4-H Camp Wabasso are returning for 2026 🍀

Designed for ages 6–16, our day camps give youth the chance to experience all the fun of camp, but with the opportunity to head home each evening! It's perfect for families looking for a flexible camp option without the overnight stay or multiple days commitment.

They will be offered Monday - Friday and begin at 8:00 AM and run until 5:30 PM.
